i am in club pro this year so should be good to gauge, if you are in same class

I hope this works for you Utaka after the amount of money you have/are investing. I wish my budget was anywhere close to that for TA.

Track experience and TA experience are two different things but I am sure you already know that.

Someone's either going to be elated because they are the TA equivelent of Lewis Hamilton or bitterly disappointed because they over estimated themselves and just thought they were.

Personally I think someone's in for a reality check once the first round is upon us, no matter what their budget.

i have not given up with the scoob however i have given up trying to run 600+ for competing in ta, i have gone for less power mate around 450. just for reliability, the 600+ build cost me so much money with the amount of times it went wrong.
the car is pretty much same spec apart from engine, gearbox and turbo, i sold all the others.
how is yours gettin on ?

nice to see you back andy knew you wouldnt stay away long
no worries shaun, wasnt pissed off at anyone just seems you ask for help advice or guidance and you just get piledrivered by a load of muppets.

ive spoken with duncan many times on this thread and face to face and his achievements have been remarkable this season there is no denying that. a fully deserving winner of 2009

i dont think im anything other than a guy with a car wanting to compete in time attack and do well, the same as everyone else who pays their entry and spends time effort and money on their race car. i have tried to prepare myself to the best of my ability and ive stated many times i would like to be competetive, what is so wrong with that i dont understand why stupid ****ty comments about me thinking im the t.a lewis hamilton have to be shoved in, ive . i have the backing of a great team in scoobyclinic they will provide all the support i will need for 2010, and i just hope i can repay the favour by doing well. ill definately be keeping myself to myself coz it seems a bitchy place out there

ill get some fresh pics up this week

Now that is a far more sensible approach. My comments may have come across as being a little harsh but they were meant with good intentions. You've said several times that you think you'll be quicker than those that have already competed for several seasons. I was merely being realistic as you will be up against some fantastic drivers with some fantastic cars who have several seasons under their belts. To say that you'll be beating them in your first season in a new car is either bloody arrogant or just nieve. I'd like to think it's the latter.

Either way I sincerely hope you have a great season and I'm going to enjoy watching your car go round the tracks as it sounds like it will be an awesome bit of kit.

im just going to do the bestt i can what ive said is i will have the car to do well the rest is in my hands, im under no illusion that there are far more experienced and talented drivers competing than me and i know its going to take a season to bed in thats why i wanted my first competetive year to be in club class, but this didnt go down to well due to the spec of my car. we have talked about running less power to start so i can start in club class, ill ust send off the spec once completed and see what happens?

Good luck this year.

Having read your thread and noted your cars spec and your competitive aspirations, then if you have a club pro spec car then I suggest you should enter that class and work to be competitive in it.
Too sand bag just to collect trophies is not fair on the genuine club class drivers. And is indeed the reason why club pro class was created as there were some very quick tuner supported cars running in club, and this was not fair on the lower budget genuine club racer. Also if you start in club and are quick, you will be moved to club pro anyway.

thanks matt
i think you have probebly got a lot of grief on this thread for being normal mate, everyone wants to do well and everyone thinks they can beat the next man round the track, all i can say is " practice makes perfect"
with the time you have left leading up to this years ta i dont think there is any way you could get enough practice in your car on all tracks to be at your top level that you want to be at.
i think you are right to go in club challenge and i would keep the car at the spec it was intended to be at.i drove mine at low boost and then when i drove it at medium boost it was a hole different car in how it responded and acted, there is no substitute for time in the seat.
the only reason i am going in club pro is because i think i could achieve better times. i do not expect to win with 450hp now however i am going to be driving to win.

good luck again matt, and hope to see you on 24th april

ps i am at oulton on 17th feb and 9th march and 7th april if you fancy joining me

your totally right andy and i fully agree with everything you say above to be winning rounds and scoring regular points i will need to know the car and i wont not in eight weeks and i probably wont achieve want to this season, but its in my nature to push myself, i always have in everything ive done. i will build the car to the origional spec not turn it down and see what happens.
ill come along to the track day mate if the subaru isnt done ill just use my evo. oulton is a fantastic track, ill get on it at any oppertunity
who did you book with?
