time attack build
Only because Paul had cooked them using 07 pads on their race car before I got them and they had cracked before I even put them on. The AP rotors that Ksport can supply have been awesome.
Actually they were never cooked on our car, something the temperature paint will attest to. However they certainly didn't like the Pagid Grey pads I used on those discs at one point, a problem I've had previously but it was put down to the discs (on another car) but I am pretty sure that the combination of Pagid grey pads and sudden heat and cooling of discs rather than longer term heat is a problem.
The 07 pads were used on the Comp brake discs which Duncan borrow while we sorted the AP rotors from Apex.

so which is the best performing calliper for my needs k sport, alcon or ap im not fussed on paying more for ap if it is worth the extra money. like i said i have a ste of alcon callipers and rotors at litchfield but i dont want to buy them until ive heard something back about them as ive not been able to find them on a serious track vehicle. ap has the most feedback and the most information about the calliper rotor and pad combos. alcons weigh the least, k sport are cheapest, ap are most reputable and compbrake have some good reviews too.

Matt - i would wipe compbrake off that list of yours

It is budget dependant IMO as Ksport, AP, Alcons will all stop/slow your car perfectly. If you have a bottomless pot of money (which you are almost saying that you have ) then go for the ultimate in performance. It does seem very strange that you are wanting to go into club challenge if that is the case though competing against guys/girls on very limited budgets. If this is a money no object build then put it up in club pro....
If money is no object then go for the most expensive,i have the big K-Sports on mine and think there awesome (not used on track yet mind by me personally),dont think michael-H had any probs with them (prev owner) and was doing fairly well in TA,this was in 07 and the disks still look good think pads are ds 2500's.
Not read all the pages utaka (sorry) what turbo are you going for ?.

Have any of you lads tried the D2 racing brake setups? They seem to have some good reviews.

i will be using a scoobyclinic/blauch turbos hybrid gt35r with the new billet core if you look back a few pages there is a link to the turbos with a comprehensive write up and dyno results to prove. a variety of billet core turbos have been compared with their standard counterparts and the results are impressive to say the least. if you cant find the link post back and ill re post the link

i think the ap brakes that you have chose will be more than up to the job mate.
alot of people have different choice of pads but in my opinion i would try carbonne lorranne rc6 pads, i have tried ds300, mintex 1166, and pagid, and on my set up i found that the carbonne lorranne rc6 were in a totally different league. everyone will think that there brakes are better than the next man. i am not saying mine are better than anyones but this is the best combination by far, for my set up,
hope this helps, andy h

i am after feedback from anyone or anyone you personally know using an ikeya formula shifter on their subaru. does anyone have it on on an 06 + six speed box. i have e-mailed a few places in japan and they have replied saying many of the time attack subarus use the shifter on standard six speed sti boxes and you DO NOT need a dog box which i was lead to believe, the six speed is perfectly good. i have looked on the ikeya formula website and there are vids of a standard subaru with six speed, so it says, using the shifter. i appreciate you must still engage the clutch but the action is so much simpler. have been looking at these since last summer but want some proper feedback before spending that level of cash. no crappy comments only productive whether its good , bad or helpful pls

just read thread after thread that its crap 1st gear doesnt engage 4th doesnt engage, people having to miss out gears as they crunch so much on the standard syncro box, so i think i will give it a miss,
. my build build is to a budget hence no dog box and a few other bits for this first season, im not a tuner entry so im funding myself with a VERY generous hand from the clinic
to allow me to get the car competing in 2010, thats why i will run their livery all over the car
i was just seeing if anyone has got the ikeya system working but unfortunately it just sounds that it will never run properly on a syncro gearbox. never mind some dollar saved

utaka,
If you want to do it properly you are going to be looking at the thick end of a minimal £8k - £15k... I have already looked in to a sequential kit from Drenth.
Nowt wrong with the standard 6sp box.... if you want something a little extra, have flat shifting mapped.

yeah think i will leave it as the standard six speed, its the way ive changed gear my whole driving life why change now, i asked rcm about a full sequential box. when olly told me the price i ran away screaming
, its too much money to warrent im not a professional driver, and the car wont get used enough to make it worthwile and there is no way i can afford a decent system. ah well nice thought while it lasted
ill be using a solaris, what does the flat shifting do?
i e mailed rob barnes earlier with the full spec of the car and i mean everything as i really wanted to know which class i would be in for this year, i told him i had never done competetive driving but have done quite a few track days and have been taught by phil glewe for past 8 months so he had a fair view of my driving level.
well i got the e-mail back and im in club pro
