No pics yet as there has been little progress because of various reason out of our contrl....new baby and such likes for the garage owner
hi peter
i will not be fitting my new turbo untill i have had time in the car and ironed out all teething issues. it will probebly go on next year for totb, the turbo i have had made will not loose spool, it will spool just as quick and hopefully make another 100 or more,
i am at snetterton on the 24th sept for testing, all being well, so should have a bit more feedback from the car then.

hope baby is ok

if you are refering to my car, oh yes it is about 90% finished now, just a few bits of wiring to do and then just a little tweek on the rollers coz the v power i was using on the last dyno session was over a month old and it would of lost a bit of octane, so i think it makes sense to drain the tank and put some fresh stuff in and give it a little tweek,

me and edmy are working on it on thursday so it should be 100% then

shawy is having a t04z now and he is going to run slightly higher boost than me, with avcs heads and same spec motor, so his is the one to watch out for .

The last 10% is the hardest part

Yes it would be a wise move to put fresh fuel in for the final big map and thursday will be quick coming

Good luck with Shawy too

Are you running avcs heads Andy?

If not then what you have a achieve with your turbo spool up is clearing astonishing.

if you run a 0.6 housing it wont be worth it

if you run a 0.8 housing it will, coz you could get the same power with less boost so effectively less strain on motor, in theory

As Andy H has said...keep the boost sensible and don't it high....that should prolong the life of the engine.

I won't be driving it hard until i've put a few thousand miles on it then i'll turn the boost up.
It just ain't worth the hassle until i've done the 1000mile run in.

Aren't both Andy F and Chy very pro on ensuring that engines are run in adequately??

Looks like you're not too far away now before you can start clocking up those mileage. My gearbox is nearly finished and next on hit list is the manifold.

Not for now. We are working with modding the standard manifold and see if it will make the power. If not, then the Cosworth one would be an option. Are you running a cosworth on your's Andy?

no mate, just done a bit of tidying all wiring and fitting a very loud launch control, and a switch for 1 bar boost for wet events and 1.6 for dry events, typically 500hp and 600hp, should be getting my car back at home on friday so will clean all the dust off it and post you some recent pics with all of the
monster energy decals

i have a sti 8 inlet manifold jag, reversed, for now, jim at alloy fab is making me a new one with 8 inj setup and ports for nos and a 72mm throttle body, also re making all my intercooler pipework 73mm and intercooler flanges so hopfully that can go on next year.

Andy

Has your sti8 manifold been opened up on the inside or is it completely standard?
IIRC Sleepersy found it restrictive beyond 600.

I've had mines opened up and will be interested on what it'll do with the 70mm TB.
