Need a new watch

You have gone to great lengths to tell us what this watch is......but you have left out what model it is, is it a MARE ?
The reason I ask is that I want to see one, the one you have, if you can find the exact one can you post the link, is it an Auto or a Quartz chronograph ?
Cheers.

The Zenith bit was for Salsa who has a Rolex Daytona wth a zenith movement.
I buy from many places, DavidMRobinsons opposite the Hogs Head, JuraWatches internet, WatchesofSwitzerland Southport, watch fairs, privately, E-bay
a place in Alderley Edge that I have forgotten the name of..
Fergusons Jewellers USA, and many more Ive forgotten about.
More importantly, where do you get your discount from ?

i got the wifes rolex from that david m, its in now getting a service. £280

her sister works in Goldsmiths in L1, they now do rolex's as well, i know this cos they have had at least 50k's worth robbed since it opened

she is currently off on maternity leave though, my brother got one of these off her

bit gay if you ask me but it was what he wanted. over 4k worth
My wife got it for me fairly recently from Harper of Harrogate in York. It was cheaper than the Stingray you linked to. So it could easily be six years old. I had never heard of them before and just thought it was a good casual watch...
...and I used to think my Breitling was big!
GoldSmiths is positioned too near the escalators, dead easy for the lowlife to escape to the rear of the complex.
Ive noticed they wont take watches out of the cabinets now, I bought a Ball Hydrocarbon engineer chrono from them and want to put it next to a Triest for comparison but they would not get two out at once, infact they were a little unsure at getting one out.
At least I think it was GoldSmiths....is it at the back as you enter at the law courts enterance, second floor, last shop on left next to escalators?
I think Ive got alzheimers.

RE SALSA'S ZENITH:
Rolex finally released the new version of the Daytona in 1991. They had abandoned the workhorse Valjoux movement in favour of the Zenith movement. The new dials featured large subsidiary dials and had an inner track in a contrasting colour. Dial colours included black, white, champagne and each watch had "Daytona" in red on the dial and they all had screw-down pushers.
By the way Nat, I have contacted a dealer I use in America, Fergusons, and he holds little hope of finding me a Marathon CSAR.. He has a non-chrono GSAR but its nothing like the CSAR

They are basically the same watch - I agree.
Just wanted to put the pic up to respond to Nat's snidey post.
I agree - it does not really do it for me - I prefer my wrist-clock and my Breitling. And being of small mind I love the matt-black Hublot

LOL @ Snidy, those in glasshouses and all that
I love a lot of the Offshores, but equally a lot are rather gaudy. They have so many "people" editions it's a bit confusing. My fave is the Sachin Tendulkhar (sp!) one.
Still i'll go back to dribbling on windows (or oiling my 90 yr old crocodile skin like i've been doing all day)

You fundamentally misunderstand my window comment - it has nothing to do with shops.
And whilst we have different taste I feel no need to describe yours as small minded or ****. Nor did I feel the need to imply I you were a liar.
I am not sure why your post was so aggressive when all we are doing is comparing taste. I will leave you to go and polish your skin.

Apologies for this post as I know nothing about watches........ I saw a picture of a watch in a magazine in our waiting room which looked quite nice and wondered what they were ??

Gents: slightly old news, but just got the RTM:
Circumventing the swear filter is not allowed....fancy watch or not!
Mr Impreza: you know what you have to do to avoid the ban hammer!
I'm timing you....on my Rolex.....that I got off a beach salesman.....at precisely 12 mid-day....because it only has one hand!

Received my battered old Pammy today and a Datejust i was getting worried about. God knows how that got through customs - declared value of $25 "gift" in a huge USPS priiority box that cost $26.50 to post had "LIES - SEIZE ME" written all over it

I think there is a list now, probs a few months from an AD. Although i bet if you walked the length of Bond street, sloane st, and went to Harrods, Libertys and Selfridges you'd find one somewhere on any given day.
Or you can buy one from an unauthorized dealer for £500 or so above list price.
