Thumbs up

Cheers Gambit, hadn't thought of that!

I'd even bought a new cover in case original cover had broken clips and trimmed the FMIC / middle of car side of new cover to clear the IC core and still the clips didn't fit!
I'll certainly give this a go!
Cheers

Unless an Audio or Nav system was ordered with the car then they were not fitted although the wiring should be there - fpan didn't get any with his 20th Anniversary.....

Looks like the clips not getting into the wing side or top holes!
Removal procedure - Refit in reverse order

Cheers Don, i had a feeling it might have been something along those lines. With me changing the fronts i'll put the original fronts in the rear doors which should improve things along side the upgraded front ones.

Any ideas - does bumper need more trimming, just Sikaflex it on?

You could always use some Mansory glue, better known as Tiger seal, no screw holes and it's one of them i doubt you'd ever need to remove them, even if you did they are easy to pop off with Tiger seal and re-seal them.

Sorry Don, it was the front fog lamp cover I was struggling with. Thanks tho.

Tried it with some black mastic and a screw as suggested by Gambit, seems to have worked! At least won't fall off again.

If it fails, I'll try Tiger glue!

Thanks all

There is no removal/fitting instructions in the Workshop manuals as fog lights were mostly supplied as an OEM accessory kit.
2008 Fog lamp kit - H4510FG030 Fitting instructions pdf attached.

Looking at the image below I would imagine you start from the central grille end and work outwards.

Hi Don,
Thanks.

My Hatch 2009 came with the normal blanking covers, no fog lamps.

I had checked the workshop manual and it simply says ... clip in the covers!

I expected to slide the cover towards the wing side to engage the clips, line up the top and bottom clips in their slots and pop in the grill side! Buy as the bumper was trimmed for the FMIC that didn't seem to work for me ( OK, this was a new bumper skin trimmed by the paint shop so maybe a little different to the trimming for original FMIC fitting ) . The clips sort of line up but a loose, can move a couple of mm up / down or in/out so are not secure.

My car came with just the OEM front speakers, i managed to source a pair of the front OEM tweeters, they really make a big difference to the sound and these are just OEM ones. The higher sounds are much closer to your ears and the clarity is so much crisper and you can hear the finer detail so much clearer, obviously with car audio you can go to any levels you want, my goal is just to improve the standard OEM sound and hopefully it will do that even more when i put in a pair of JBL Stage 3 front speakers, i'm just waiting for the mounting brackets to come from China, they are less than half the price as the same thing that's being sold over here.

No scoop loyal

Cleans up well with just a bit of soapy wash and fast wax

Mods wise im now done with the car - just a case now of tidying any trim bits I find as I go along. It's 16yr old and has 130k mile on it, 10yrs in my possession in Aug, will be never be a collectors item but for a daily driver it's a hoot and still brings smile like the first day I bought it

That's looking great especially for a daily driver in a dark colour, tidying up the trim part is fun compared to the bigger jobs, it's one of them you can do it in your own time as and when you feel like doing something on the car.

I'm 52, and always said to myself when I could afford to buy 4 branded tyres at the same time I'd do writing

Still need to do the rear wheel bearings

Thanks Hedge, your advice has been so valuable on my Subaru journey. After 10 odd years and 3 scoobs it was time to do something else.

After selling my 20th Anniversary hatch ive got these here that I bought from AS Performance as i planned to change the gearbox and diff oils sometime early this year once the weather had improved, its for both the gearbox and diff.

from memory I think they cost me £105 as the 1L bottles of gearbox oil are around £20+ and the diff oil is around £26, if you can collect from Cheshire I'll take £75 for them, its a good saving for you.

A little problem.

Near side door mirror ... buzzes when car power is on ... does not fold in/out and is loose about 1 inch when out ( can push back and forward easily,) ... mirror glass moves left/right/up/down OK.

So fuse is OK, switch is OK ( RHS mirror works as normal ). Seems motor is OK buy not connecting with the gears or similar IN the mirror to fold in / out?

Can the mirror be easily opened to replace gears / cos or motor,or is it a new mirror unit? And if so where is best place to get one?

Thanks

Hi Silver, Yep, that floppy mirror and the continuous whirr is exactly what I have/had.

No tuners or spares places had a heated / indicator n/s mirror 2nd hand, ( Sti 330S 2009 hatch ) I found "spares" on line ( Damn you AliExpress! ) and ordered what I thought was the insides of the mirror - motor, gears etc. - for a straightforward swap ... all that came was the motor! Ohh well!

Finally found a NEW unit at a dealer - main mirror and lower rear cover, top cover/scalp and indicator lens on way from Ja[pan ( 6 weeks! ) .

BUT got the bits they had and swapped my indicator lens and colour coded scalp cap and Voila .. a fully working mirror!

Just near £500 later and an hours labour from me!

Thanks to Don for the help on this journey!!
