As fitted to my C/F bonnet but in same location as originally found - switch contact patch clearly visible. There is an un-used threaded hole below the bracket. Maybe they moved/ modified it on later models due to your problem.

Brilliant Don that explains why mine was always chewing the rubber caps - it was mounted using the other threaded hole

Gambit, i remember when i had to take off that bonnet arm assembly on my previous UK Sti hatch to do something, when putting the bolts back into the bonnet one of the heads sheered off leaving the thread in the bonnet, i didn't even tighten it that hard. Its probably metal fatigue given the age of these cars now, i'd be tempted to put new ones back in. I've ordered that PAS cover from amayama, they didn't have the clips but i should have similar ones here as i have a lot of different clips and sizes etc.

I actually found the clips on a website over here so i ordered them with amayama not showing them as in stock anywhere

anyone interesed in the digi HVAC controls? They really lift the interior. These are diesel forester part number units but work without issue in Impreza STI - note the DUAL function will not work (on any variant) as Impreza heater unit doesnt have control to do so.

i have 2 sets here - they are the bare units as per pic but the trim is available on amamyama- i have the part numbers for both bits 66076SC000 66208SC000

£70 a set delivered. before i bung them on ebay for more lol

That really improves the look of the centre part of the dash, it gives it a more modern feel. I would have done it myself but with my car being a limited edition i'm keeping it 100% OEM other than i've changed the stereo whch was needed.

The first of the covers arrived, it took just 9 days to arrive from Japan from paying for it to it arriving at my door, that's a great service. Just the battery cover to come now which is coming from a different place.

Are you for real ? They are just plastic covers that improve the aesthetics and are just held on by a couple of clips that are not permanently fixed to the car and can be taken off at any time, the way your going on its like i've just done a big turbo upgrade or put a big induction kit on the car.

Similary You can fit HVAC above to improve aesthetics and remove any time.
But You keep car 100% oem fitting non oem covers

How is it even similar, what you said above your removing a functioning OEM part to replace it with a totally different part from a totally different model car. I'm removing none of the functioning parts that the car came with apart from the stereo which had to be changed as it was in Japanase. I get why Gambit has done it because if i still had my UK Sti Hatch i would have done the same, but i wouldn't do it to a limited edition car, i'd keep all the factory parts in place.

I'm not sure about a Subaru without a bonnet scoop as they are iconic to the car in how it looks, i get why people do it though as it's redundant with an FMIC and better aerodynamics etc. That PAS cover fitted like a glove without any modding, i'm expecting the battery cover when it arrives will need some kind of modding.

yeah the only thing is the hatches arent ever seen as a subaru by most! sometimes its a mazda 3, other times its a rover 25 - mine was removed as its was just a gapping hole that you could feel the front end go light as the speeds went up as there was nothing to dissapate the air flow, maybe if id an oil cooler up there or likes

be interesting to see what trimming you need for the battery cover - with my front mount pipework id need a fair bit of trimming but my bigger issue/whats preventing me doing so is a need to get the washer bottle filler located back to its original spot - the pipework pushes it across at the mo - but have an idea to just do a silicone pipe neck to run into bottle to allow the filler cap to relocated back to OE place

I'll take a good look at it when it arrives, put it to the car and see what needs trimming. Luckily I've got a dremel with a lot of attachments for this kind of thing, its just to hide the battery which will give it a cleaner look.

The battery cover arrived from Amayama earlier in the week, it came from the UAE, again in really quick time and very well packed, it was £38 to your door. Dom with his post has given an idea what needs to be trimmed, I'll takesome pics when I'm about to fit it so anybody else thinking of buying it at a later date will know exactly what needs to be trimmed.

I put the battery cover to the car today, the trimming that's needed looks pretty straight forward, it's just a case of how perfect you want to make it look. I'm off in 2 weeks time for a week, i may see if it will slide under the bracket then no trimming would be needed, just a drill hole and put the bolt through it.

Front door speaker question on a JDM hatch, i presume its the same door and speaker size cutout as a UK sti hatch.

I want to replace the stock front door speakers to ones that will be a big step up from the stock ones, what's the max size door speakers that you can put in a Sti hatch without modifications, is it 6.5 inch ? Are their any good door speakers that you would recommend, was it standard for Subaru not to put any speakers in the rear doors as i noticed mine doesn't have any, if i get new front ones i'll put the stock ones in the rear, i've got some OEM door tweeters on the way as well that i managed to find as i don't think they make them anymore.

cant tell you much about speakers except that mine has speakers in both front & rear doors, and tweeters in the front door where wing mirror mounts

I've ordered a pair of JBL STAGE3 627 6.5 from Dynamic Sounds, they get good reviews online and they recommended them too. I'll put them in then see how they are, and then for now i'll then put the stock ones in the rear doors seeing as they don't have any speakers in them at all and see how it sounds, if the JBL ones seem good i can always order another pair later on for the rear. The speaker adapters are generally £16 - £20 online, i just ordered them from Ali-express where they are £3.50 a pair so i ordered 2 pairs, most things like that all originate from China anyway, probably from the same factory.

With Subaru things like speakers and tweeters were probably an optional extra when you bought them new, probably explains why some cars came with speakers in the rear doors and front door tweeters where as others i read online didn't come with them.

Got a bit of a problem with the fog lamp covers on 2009 hatch.
Had bumper skin replaced for front end paint job, skin had to be trimmed for the Perrin FMIC.
Now LH fog lamp cover keeps popping out, and is really difficult to clip in - likely the n/s FMIC pipe. Cover had been trimmed when FMIC fitted but not come off until now!

Any ideas - does bumper need more trimming, just Sikaflex it on?
Cheers
V

PS - the order to clip it on would help... wing side, bottom side, top side?
Looks like the clips not getting into the wing side or top holes!

Yeah I'd the same issue...single small screw in top corner of each side sorted it. Screw is invisible to the eye unless you're down looking up for it

Never had any further issue with them
