Stan, I got REV for my iphone which sends info from a wifi sender plugged into the port under the steering wheel

bit more technical is that then you can connect your iphone via leads to the headunit (crack your iphone so you can use software to split the screen and display onto the headunit)

It must be great knowing about these new fangled techy gadgets !!
My Batchelor of Technology degree (1970) - when transistors were king (RIP valves) and Fortran was the computer language, means that by the '90's, I gave up trying to keep up. I haven't got an i-pod, i-phone and only 3 years ago felt the need to buy a laptop !!

Strangely, I don't feel I'm missing out on anything !!! lol

The only extra engine parameters I want to know are oil temp/pressure, boost, air intake temp. So could all be digital display apart from oil pressure.
BUT I would like to be able to read them easily i.e. bigish display
Would any of the above do that ??

Had a nice pod on the top of the dash in my 98

[Dons flame suit in case everyone knew this & it's just me who didn't read all the manual....]

So I was getting hacked off at the fan / heating controls / AC being either freezing cold or too hot,

spotted this on IWSTI, post #9

This is what they call *auto* climate control?! - IWSTI.com: Subaru WRX STI Forums

Tried it tonight.......at last it works properly press the AC button for two seconds till it flashes & hey presto 17degC is only marginally warmer than 16degC, rather than before

Was starting to think Subaru can't design anything right

Had to smile at this...this car is like pandora's box. I've owned it for 2 years & I never knew that. I'll add this to my special ninja training that I've had to...open all the doors with the remote, turn off the VDC/TC, adjust the DCCD, find the door mirrors control switch at night, set the rev limit light & alert beeps etc. etc.

A few options around mate

Been following a few threads over in states (IWSTI & NASIOC). They seem to think front side pillar mounting is fine (seen a picture with the airbags deployed and it is the side curtain air bag that comes out of the very top of the pillar only). But no-one is making the pods just yet (most are homebrew ones).

I don't like all the other aftermarket options (on top of the clock pod, top of the dash pod, steering column pods, replacing the middle air vents option) and having a double din DVD unit, like you, I don't want to replace it with a single din unit and fit the single din 3 gauge units they do (DEFI etc.)

So far the best compromise I have found is the HKS CAMP 2 setup for DVD displays (not cheap though)...not essential so only a wish list for me
