Guess it depends on the dealer. My old sport had 1" of service receipts and always listed on that was 5w30 Castrol GTX magnatec.
Guess I'll find out what they use of the diesels at the end of the month.

[quote=midichlorian;9151782]Things were going so well until...subaru ownership is like a rollercoaster
I got back to the car park to find that some ****** had lobbed a huge ice ball onto the roof....here's the damage
It would be both a dint and paint chip back to the metal wouldn't it. and just in the most inconvenient place on the roof edge panel
Anyone got any ideas of how to sort this? I'm no car expert so don't know where to start. Local dentman & paintshop? Dealer? Insurance claim? Any help would be much appreciated.
When an oak door fell against the wing on mine, it dented the crease on the front o/s wing in 2 places. Local ace body shop pushed it out and filled it (to get it perfect) then resprayed the entire wing. Perfect job (and I am fussy) £150 !!!! Couldn't believe it !
So I recommend going to a good body shop.

Hi guys, thought i would post up a few pics of my hatch too, right now the car is sitting in a nice central heated garage Don't want to get the poor girl cold .
No mods or anything as yet but reading this topic make's it hard not too.
Exhaust is a must though as the standard is way too quiet

1. Subaru say the first service is at 10K miles (all though I think your dealer doing a 1000 mile service is a great idea)
2. Castrol Magnatec might be ok for a normally aspirated Legacy, and semi-synthetic or mineral based oils are a good idea for running the engine in for the first few miles. But turbo charged cars like fully synthetic oils more mate. If you take your own fully synthetic (ester based) oil in next time and ask them to use that they will mate...I have used Millers, Silkolene and Motul, all good oils...if you have any doubts ring the oilman engine oil, motor oil, gear oil, car oil, motorbike oil, transmission fluid from oilman at Opie Oils

I don't do many miles and it was recommended by a reputable company that I may as well stick with the dealer supplied stuff,at least until I have a few more miles on the clock- particularly as I also change it every 6 months.

Dear all,
My tyres are now on the way out after 18,000 miles or so, should just limp to the 20k service. However if I am about to shell out on new rubber, I also fancy sticking some bigger wheels on instead of the standard 17's. I really like the spec C 18's, and the 330s 18's as well as the STi 18's. As mine is dark grey and want to keep with silver wheels.
Suggestions would be great.
If any of you are about to offload any of the above let me know.
I would have liked to get the wheels through Subaru, but cannot justify £400 per corner plus tyres.

Here are some poor iPhone pics of my new car (had it 6 days). When the new camera arrives, it's clean, and I see it in the daylight, I'll post new ones. They really don't do the red colour justice!
