I thought the 330S didn't have so many issues due the map being refreshed as part of the service upgrade years ago.

Rob should be able to say when that took place.
Yeah the map refresh lowered the Rev limit to avoid the ring land failure however it didn't cure the issue. The pro drive map is very aggressive over standard but keeps the lower rev limit

Genuinely interested to know why would you want to change effectively a good part already.

I ran the std headers albeit ported and polished with the std sti up pipe at 460bhp without any issues and 500ft/lbs of torque.

I've seen several folk go down the line of tubular headers and had crap results. Laggy as anything power not coming in until very late in the rev range. etc and always complaining the car is crap to drive.

So the better option
Would be to have them ported and polished then?

**** sake , well not saying they make much difference when mapping but they could of contributed and would of been better to have the better plugs fitted when mapping grr . Just another reason backing up my thoughts about scooby clinic and why I chose not to have my engine built by them

Worked well on quite a few builds I've done, Even Andy f had the same configuration on his hawk 2.5 when he had it

Edited my above post to add a snippet of info.

SILFR6a are the factory plugs as they are Subaru specific, 6B's are similar but without the 5ohm requirement, At the moment wont effect you to much. if you decide to go further up the power range then you may need to look at going to 7's

Thanks rob ! So the 7s wouldn't of made any difference really ?

Think IF I go for any more power then I'll port my headers, I was shown a video to show how the standard headers are unbalanced favouriting a single port.

could anyone tell me what size the speakers are in the hatch? standard ones are pretty pants IMO and i want to get some decent ones in there but don't fancy removing the doorcards etc just to measure them! id rather just take them off once, in order to fit the new speakers.

I've heard the standard speakers are actually okay, it's the headunit that is slacking in power

I might be wrong ?

I've got a kenwood double din sat nav head unit so i think it puts out reasonable sound quality but the speakers just sound crap to me, obviously tastes vary but there is no bass at all and they just sound muffled and lacking in clarity. my old rx8 had the bose speaker package so i guess I'm comparing it to that a bit.

I have the same unit and the same problem , however I was sat in a hatch with the standard headunit which doesn't have the nab and the bass was great !

thats interesting. i don't really want to go down the route of having a sub in the boot, especially as some of the better speakers can put out a decent amount of bass.

I've been considering replacing the headunit , didn't want to loose the nav and mpg etc but I think a app radio would be good enough and make the most of
The current speakers

New plate added too

Front wont due to the pcd difference. Think the rears will fit as the mounting is the same

Price on 330s , what's people's thoughts ? Do you think they'll continue to depreciate or stay around the price they're at now ? Since there's only 170 registered in the UK it's not far off being a rare-ish car

What's the spec ? How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking ? Did you just happen to see it local ? Or did you find it online

Hi Rob
Thanks for the reply, think I will take a chance on them, why would the PCD make a difference?

i knew off the car - its just a standard 330s but forged with omega pistons, cosworth gaskets & ARP head studs (£3.4k receipt for it) still running the 330s map.

price was around average price for a 330s with above average mileage, 89k on it, with 4k since rebuild
