08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
Looking good Cannon Fodder, as I have a blue hatch as well I'll be looking out for your mods for inspiration.
On another note, has anyone had problems with chips/road rash on the rear doors? Mine is showing faint signs that this may be an issue in the future, particularly in the winter months. It's the bottom of the rear doors as the curve into the wheel arch, so they are a prime area to take any stones tossed up. The previous owner has had a clear film put onto the very bottom corner/side skirt I'm guessing for some form of protection.
John.

Thanks, I also noticed the amount of debris being thrown up at the bottom of the rear doors and ordered a set of mud flaps which I hope will offer some protection.
I am pretty sure that my car had flaps fitted previously as those prime areas for road rash are unmarked on my car, and the fact that some of the clips for the arch liners are missing sort of confirms this.
I hadn't thought about getting the bottom of the doors and front edges of the rear wings wrapped in clear vinyl but it's definitely something I will look into now.

Cheers Don that's good info, I think I've got 2 of the 3 fitted to my car. The 'L' shaped bit and a small square on the bottom of the door.
As useful as these are at the protection they give, I can't see them being good enough over the winter for coverage so I'm looking at mudflaps (which to be honest I wasn't going to fit to this car). Best I can see are the rally armour ones which I know are popular with owners on here, thinking of the grey text so they aren't too noticeable.
Apart from these are there any smaller or more discreet mudflaps on the market.
Cheers.

They aren't cheap but having had Rally Armor before I know the fit and quality is spot on.
I did try contacting Performance Creations twice (once via email and once via a telephone call and never got a response back from either) to ask if they make mini Kaylan flaps, so only after that did I go down the Rally Armor route.
They look similar to the oe fit ones the dealer fitted to mone when I bought the car. In the end I took them off as didnt like the stiffness to them and I wanted ones that come out a bit more to protect the sides from stones.
Just had the WRX mapped by Bob Rawle, over the moon with the results, exactly where i wanted to be with the power.
I am awaiting the graph but it is looking like 360bhp and 400 torque!
Next mods will be focused on handling.

Good point but I bet she's nice to drive though nice bit of power and toque. Tell you what if your doing handling mods mines got the drop links and all done as seen in this thread and it makes a huge diffrance to the back end need to sort the front as it seems abit lose but the back holds really nice with that little lot done.

More cash!
I know it's all money mate enjoy the fruits of your labour. I got lucky and that little lot was done on mine but I need springs and sort anty lift on the front other than brakes mine handles lovely
I would of thought the biggest improvement to the rear of any Hatch would be to fit the Whiteline rear subframe to body bush inserts, it was on mine, as the movement on oe bushes is horrendous.
Good figures, I'm waiting for Bob to get back to me on a mapping session.
It's combination of the parts fitted, fuel pump, turbo, decat, FMIC, etc.
The WRX has a lot of restrictive parts lol..
The engine itself is standard apart from the forged pistons so it won't be getting pushed much further, i may fit a billet wheel to the turbo and delete the tumblers next year but that would be it.

I just hope the gearbox holds up.
Sorry that was a typo its running a VF43 not 34!

She'll be having a forged build early next year but I don't plan to exceed 450bhp, so I'll be either keeping the STi TMIC or getting an uprated TMIC manufactured using a better quality core.
I've been down the stupid BHP route before and it's not something I'm keen to repeat.
I can get one made using the best core available for a very good price.
That's local to me. I'd be interested to know the price of this or is it a special mates rates deal you have? Thanks
There not difficult to fit either for anyone wanting to do the modification
Cheers
