i bought my a while ago, from eibach direct as no 3rd party was selling them at the time (bought them back in 2010 for £219, might have dropped in price now too), they are the same as the prodrive springs on the PPP i believe. which i imagine, is now being sold by pro-r as prodrive seems to have abandoned the scoob (nothing for the newer models that i can find).

Not surprising as there is no direct connection i.e. Rallying, between the two anymore.

Subaru UK have moved on and now employ Mike Wood direct under the Pro-R banner

This has been the best thread on SN for a long time - I really can't see any valid reason to kill it off and start another hatch thread.... Its been informative, interesting, and an invaluable source of information on all aspects of "Hatch life". I've picked up lots on inside info on cheap parts, how to do's, and some surprising detailed advice on the little things that count.

Sounds a bit nerdy I know but it's been superb ! Folks from Europe and USA have been regular visitors to SN just to catch up on this thread.... So thanks everyone - you know who you are ... Keep on posting. : )

I've collected a nice box of Parts to be fitted at my 30k service (as soon as I can afford it)...

Comprising some 'Carl Davey' O-ring manifold spacers, a PTS turbo blanket, some DEI gold heat reflective tape to wrap the top mount, Perrin silicon turbo inlet, Grimmspeed electronic boost controller ( with suPer duper valve design - thanks Rheid), new 750 Denso injectors, Perrin billet parrellel fuel rails and new fuel lines with the heat resistant Goodyear covers, yellow film for fog light covering, new 13 dingle led side lamps, and I think I want a Fuel lab thingee for the petrol.

Since my last map tweak I removed the H&S decat down pie, PPP cat delete pipe, standard centre, and PPP rear box (make me an offer and come and collect it) - and had a superb CobraSport sportscat 3" system fitted. Amazing quality and sounds.... loud. So after a month of being the loudest thing around (possibly not helped by the RCM fully wrapped headers and Harvey Smith trick up-pipe combo) I had a race box made up by AA firm Stafford and welded into the straight through mid- piPe. Quietened it down just enough, but discovered the quality of the fitters welding v poor (not only were there two or three pinholes in the welding there were two 5mm gaps too). So back to CobraSport to take it off and reweld it in properly. And realign the backbox which the crap fitter had pushed back and out at one side.

So back to Enginetuner in the near future to fit all the bits and tweak the map. I think the exhaust will give another 10 bhp top end as its that much free-er - let's hope going up a size won't hurt the torque - it was 430 last time on the rollers with 366 bhp. The inlet should give another 10 I reckon, boost controller will sharpen it all up, and with the inlet maybe bring down the boost threshold 2-300rpm (we'll see)...

It's also possible that I won't get any more power as the turbo is maxed out. Last time on the rollers I had fitted the header / up-pipe combo - netting 60lb torque but no extra power. The diff between tunes was 1 bhp - what was diff was the way it was made. Before headers 1.5 bar dropping to 1.26 for 365bhp. Then with headers 1.5 bar dropping to a little over a bar at 6k for 366bhp. So power made earlier with less boost - turbo still maxxed.

Maybe it'll make 367bhp at 0.9 bar or something lol. Remember these are the Enginetuner rollers and a little conservative, and not laptop Delta dash figures ; )

I know the next purchase has to be the SC 46 billet from the clinic but the house is on the market - once house sold I'll have one in silver please. That'll finish me off. Don't want a fmi - maybe a Chevron Motorsports tmi (the cheaper one).

Let you all know how it goes as soon as its done : )

On this thread,,,, lol

What do you guys think of alloy nuts?? Ordered some steel TPI's in red and looked at them last night and they are more burgundy than red, I know the alloy nuts are more of a vibrant colour and guess mine are so dark as that's what happen's when you anodize steel.

Issue is I'm not keen on alloy nuts as heard many bad reports on them, looking at Rays but still not convinced thay are as good/practical as steel!

I must admit I did consider the STI nuts and if the recesses were not as deep on the rims and you may have actually seen them I may have gone for them, but as you wouldn't I couldn't justify the £200!!!!

Default Front O2 sensor

Hi guys, looking for an O2 sensor as my 08 STI threw a P0031 code yesterday. After chatting with Rob it appears Subaru want IRO ~£300 for one, needless to say I wasn't impressed and I figured I'd try to source one from the States. Rob PM'd me this eBay link:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Su...item4cfa9d2537

However this place also seems to be selling them at a very similair price:

http://www.lambdasensor.com/main/subarucr.htm

Figured it might be useful info for when anyone else requires a new Lambda sensor...

Stu

P.S. the official part number is 22641AA510 - thanks once again to Rob, very helpful as usual!

STi version in box..........

Various colours.....

CHEAPEST place I've found to buy and import Black Spline Drive Lugnuts is JEGS

http://www.jegs.com/i/McGard/671/65354BK/10002/-1

EASIEST place to buy the matching Black Tuner Locking Nuts is ScoobyParts (although out of stock at mo)

http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/...HEEL_NUTS.html

You can always go for the complete kit............

http://www.jegs.com/i/McGard/671/65554BK/10002/-1

Must add, have had excellent service from McGard Germany (Euro HQ) when I've needed to replace previously rusted items under their lifetime guarantee and purchasing additional keys.

Have gone for these, quality looks good, only thing is the red is pretty dark but will see what they look like when I get them on.

http://www.taperpro.co.uk/2012/nuts.htm

Thanks for the link Don, if these do not work out I'll look at the McGuard set if shipping is resonable, looked for these before when Rob mentioned them but struggled to find online.

Anyway, I've had a few sets from them now and service is always spot on. Usually works out about £100 a set by the time you pay shipping plus VAT and handling fees at this end -money well spent though, without a doubt the best wheel nuts on the market.

And the absolutely best bit about them is that the lower silver conical section rotates independently to the rest of the nut so they don't chew up your wheels.

It was good to me you to Apostle.

had a good run home and been busy polishing the tail pipes all afternoon and they have come up like new just cannot wait to get it fitted now. As discussed probs gonna wait a while to fit other sections and for a remap (how brave or stupid am i). Will give Harvey Smiths garage a ring first thing Monday and see about fitting

Will post a few pics once fitted etc.

Thanks again

Nosbor.

Cool

"how brave or stupid am I"

Not brave or stupid - just wise...

A remap by Andy F would be the best thing on any standard hatch Sti to help protect it from possible ringlands failure or similar. Money well invested.

Then you have the bonus of more power, a bigger power band, more sensitive throttle control and... better fuel consumption as the icing on the cake. It's a win win win situation.

I'm sure all SN'etters would agree.

Well as its to wet to wash the car have sat in the garage and cleaned up wheels, brake dust cleared, polished and protected with poorboys wheel sealant, and while at it fitted my new TPI steel nuts and lockers. Went for red, initially not impressed with the colour as very dark, however once on really pleased as vey subtle.

Not expensive so will see how they fair but so far so good!
