08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
haha Stevie, I know your pain. When I did the boot chrome, had to take it all apart, except I disconnected the release switch then shut the boot! Que 2 hours of lying in the boot from the back seats trying to get the connectors back together so I could open the boot again!
Your not going to like this, there is a way off taking the upper grille off without taking the front apart

On a side note to anyone who has fitted these rear light flim you are a better man then me lol, managed the lights on the hatch but boy the lights on the wings are ridiculous, they are curved, flat and the finish I got was poor so took it back off not to sure what to do, just don't think I have the skills or patients to do it lol kept getting a lip where it tapers away so think I need a professional lol. Will have to buy another set and find someone to fit them :-(
On another note has anyone ever fitted a back rack on the rear of there hatch? Mine has all the right holes for the hooks however am not sure I fancy taking my chances.
If you have do you have any pics?

Stevie, this is how I did mine. Helps I have long fingers and skinny forearms. It did leave me with a few scrapes though.
Anyone recommend decent all round tyres for the hatch, my fronts are on their last legs?
Talking of which can I get away with changing the fronts only, was always a no no on my evo?

PS3s are good if you don't plan on running winter tyres, great during the summer and surprisingly decent in winter. Pilot Super Sports are awesome for summer use but you'd really want to swap for winter tyres once the temp drops.
Whatever you end up going for just remember to rotate the wheels front to back regularly and you'll get even wear on all 4.
Cheers, Neil
Can't say which ones to get but I can tell you NOT to get Pirelli zeros got them on my 330s with 19" gt2's and they in my opinion are terrible. Squeal on most corners and lost all grip last week on a left hander. In the wet they seem to slip all over the place. Might just he me but would like to replace them just the cost of 4 replacements is not going to be nice

Gotta be the Continental Sport Contact 3 tyres...
IMO a superb all rounder - unbeateable in fact.
I'm on my second set and will replace them with the same again.
EVO mag rate them very highly - they were voted best tyre for the last three tyre tests - I would think you could see their reviews online.
The Vredestein are the cheap option, Michelin the most expensive ( but no longer the best all rounder ).

Unfortunately, tyres are always going to be a little bit of a compromise unless you want to fork out the extra for dedicated winters.
Have a look here, it might help narrow things down for you - or leave you even more confused!

Neil.
Tyres for the hatch you'll not go far wrong with Pirelli P-Zero Rossa's
these tyres are a great combination for wet and dry roads, they don't seem to budge at all.
dont try and fit just two tyres and leave part worn's on the rear as it will rip them appart, I've tried this. 3000 miles for a set of dunlop's *GULP*

Does anyone have any idea if the number ye text for METASAT for a MY08 has changed? If so, what to?
I'm nae getting a response when texting it but have an active subsription and plenty credits.
The +39 number isn't working... and last time I disconnected my battery I got a text from a UK number - but this one isn't working either. Although, I'm nae sure the UK number stored in my phone is this same UK number, might have been from an earlier time and I deleted the most recent one.
Any ideas?

Mine will be going in for its second annual service in the next few weeks, a few items are bugging me are they worth asking about as a warranty claim:
1) Rear gas struts are no longer strong enough to lift the hatch to full height, even though I have not added any weight to the hatch lid.
2) The piece of plastic which prevents loss of the fuel filler cap, snapped just after the first service and it looks as if I need to replace the fuel cap to get a new strap.
3) The black finish on the surround below the volume control of the radio has worn away to show just the silver. Bit annoying as 9/10 of the time I use the steering wheel controls.
Any thoughts?
I must book it in for its service

The car's only 2 years old, of course it's worth pursuing via warranty!
However, whether you'll get what you want or not is a different matter all together.

The only one of your issues I can comment on is the radio surround, a mate has had his replaced under warranty for exactly that reason, in fact IIRC I think it's now been replaced twice.

Maybe I'll disconnect the battery again and see what number it texts me from, thanks anyway

Dont blame you to be honest, If I could manage with front wheel drive in winter I'd have had one by now with a mountune package fitted. But realistically I need AWD in winter living here in the middle of knowere.
think you know here, Caryn, RB5 190, 22B
she's outed the mountune **** map a one that pulls harder and stronger then the STI 330bhp!!!
decent tyres give it awesome grip
I'm not looking for that power , standard will be fine for me

I know Caryn through NESF, Pdi'd a fair few at work as it happens as we also have another garage which is a ford dealership. Lovely motors and sound epic with a nice exhaust fitted.
