Quote: Hi im after a wiring diagram for a uk sti hatch and more importantly a wiring diagram for the JDM hatch? i have got some wing mirrors off a JDM car and want to fit them to my uk sti. They have different wiring so i need to find out what does what so i can connect the right wire to the right wire so to speak! Im sure getting the uk info will be easy but the JDM info will be harder so any help will be most appreciated. thanks nick
Recently did this to my Saloon but also added heated mirrors as the mirrors I obtained (supplied originally by Litchfield) were not.

Whilst we are on the topic of door mirrors, does anyone have an idiots guide on what relay is needed (inc a link to one) and what wiring has to be fabbed up to automaticlly fold the mirrors when the ignition is switched off.

Thanks

Tony did a diagram........ however the JDM module to fold on locking/unfold on ACC/startup is very good (once you sort the feed out for the UK double locking door locks ). It also retains use of the OEM manual fold button.

Cheers Don, think that makes sense, I'll have to have a look behind the switch to see how accessable it all is, assuming all feeds (live, earth etc) and located near the switch.

Don, how did you fit the heating elements on the new JDM mirrors and where did you get hold of them?

Cheers!

Purchased replacement heated mirror glasses from Japanparts.

Took the mirrors completely apart and added the extra wires to the existing wiring loom. Just needed to feed them up through the plastic sleeving, once a suitable hole had been made in the silicone sealant at the top of the motor. Once installed hole resealed to make watertight.

Could have gone the "stick on" 12v heating element but decided to get the genuine heated mirror glasses. Part numbers 91039AG201 and 91039AG211

Along with the link previously mentioned, I also found a couple of the pictures in this article quite helpful (re: location of the connectors).............

as some of you are probably aware, I'm the chariman of the RB5 & the RB320 owners clubs

well we have just manged to find out the interior company that was commisioned to do the RB320 leathers & alacantara interiors, they are currently producing seatbelt pads for our members with the individual build numbers on.

I have asked them to make me a set up with red STI and 340R underneath in silver and red

just thought I'd mention it here as the company are actually used by Subaru UK, Ford, Alfa and a few other manufacturers therefore held in high regards for quality as some of you may fancy a custom set made up

I'm waiting back on prices but will advise when I know

Great work Don (as usual!)
Do you know whether Forester Sti's have the wiring in place?
I need to pull my finger out and do the same.

Fivos,

Afraid not. Worth checking the connection in the door panel to see if the two heater connections exist. 10 connections against 8.

If not you would need to wire back into the main loom inside the car.

knocking noise?
Ok, well I may be a little paranoid but thought I'd check with you guys anyway!!

Noticed recently that on really slow forward movement in first/second gear (0-10mph) that I get a really slight knocking noise through the accelerator pedel and imagine its the diff, does it in all diff settings, also does it at same speed in reverse.

Stops at higher speed say +10/15mph.

It has always made a louder but similar noise on near full lock in reverse which I know is quite normal!

Do you guys have similar nioses??

Cheers

still in love
Hi Boys and Girls, long time no see..... How you all doing in Hatchland?? I'm still in love with my 09 STI s is costing an arm and leg to run but I'm hanging in there ....Just had some Michelin super sports fitted and they are fab!!! not cheap (£460 for two) but the levels of grip are stunning. The H & S system is still keeping me happy and I have been asked by drivers what make it is as it sounds sooo good. So all in all I'm still loving the whole Hatchback thing....Anyway, All that said can someone tell me what "white light" bulb / led bulb could I fit in my fog lights to help them to match the white light side lights etc.
Also thinking of fitting some wheel spacers (20mm) and have been looking at the CDF racing items, any comments on them?? will my wheels fall off??
I'm off to Sumo Power tomorrow for a south east scooby meeting and will do my best to uphold the Hatch honour LOL cheers Ian

They took the serial number from my unit to give to Subaru on Friday.
Let me know if the warranty replacement is any different
went up this morning to get it changed (under warranty)....

guess what ... the SatNav played up and it didn't know where I was on the road.... looked like I was in a field all the time, wasn't until almost at Doncaster it picked me back up as being on a Road!!!

So glad its been swapped.

Same unit.. nothing else changed. You put your 'old' SatNav Disc back into the unit.

All works fine again

My hatch is up for sale. Sorry to see it go but need to get on the property ladder.

https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...l#post10500047

Lucky new owner will get a properly sorted hatch that would make the subaru cosworth look a little silly.
