nice.

So if the gauge holder isn't there do you still lose your head or eye to a flying a pillar trim... have you seen a video of the air bags going off? The a pillar trim (and anything firmly attached including the alarm sensors on UK cars... ) stay in place. The airbag comes out the side between trim and a pillar.

Duck and cover LOL.

Subaru officially stopped the STi numbering at 6, last of the classics... so the STi 9 could be a widetrack MY05 blob or is it a hawk, is the MY11 a different version to MY08-10 etc etc. Best to just refer to them in MYs.

Hi all just to keep you up to date on Centre Diff issue Subaru garage replaced Diff on Monday last week and they told me the problem has gone however there was a noise coming into the car after driving it for a while. So they replaced 2 bearings which still haven't fixed this noise only occurs after driving it for a while. They now reckon the problem is at the Gearbox which will take at least another week to repair. I dont know if maybe the guru Rob would have any idea of what it maybe as I dont have much confidence in my local Suabru garage.

Sounds very much like they have not got a clue mate, you cant just go changing bearings without setting up all the correct clearances & pre-loads on the diff and bearings etc etc.

seems to me they dont know what the problem is and are causing distress to you the owner and are costing subaru uk an arm and a leg through incorrect diagnosis

Hi Rob
Thanks for your quick response they replaced the centre diff and it fixed the initial problem but when you drive it for a while it makes this noise which they thought it might be related to 2 bearings which they have now replaced they think it is the gearbox because if they change gear when the noise happens it goes away. This garage is a long time Subaru dealer here in Ireland so you would imagine they would know what they are doin but they are not filling me with confidence at the minute.

Just handed the car into Subaru, while I was there they had a red cosworth in the show room wow is all I can say had a good look over it, and for a brief moment I almost put the new house deposit at risk, can't imagine the missus would be happy though.

Still cant justify the 50k price tag

Was going to put a pic up of mine but it looks positively clean next to yours Rob!

Did try to foam it last week but the foam froze to the car, looks worse than it did before!

My Radio update.

Thanks to the help of Burrell's of Doncaster, Laura has emailed to say the new Radio/Satnav/DVD unit has arrived.

I'm getting it fitted Saturday morning.

Must say I'm very impressed with Subaru Warranty.. so far

Excellent
They took the serial number from my unit to give to Subaru on Friday.
Let me know if the warranty replacement is any different

Ring litchfield imports, they sold loads of jdm mirrors for fitting on a uk hatch. They have a diagram of how to wire em up
