Hello all,

I am looking for some advice. I want more of an exhaust note but i cant bring myself to spend 500+ on an exhaust system.

I was wondering if anyone on here has done anything like cutting out x,y,z silencers, second cat (whatever they have) and putting just welding a custom straight through pipe to improve flow and note? Can it be done? Has it been done? Is there any electronical problems associated after like lambda senors?

Thanks

Cut out the centre res pipe and add on a secondhand ppp back box, will give a nice note with no cabin drone, a few vids of my old hatch below in various stages!

Thank you abx.

I know its a silly question but what does ppp stand for? is it just the prodrive? And where could you find one for sale, many desirable parts for the hatch are limited and very expensive!

being sick of looking at that what looks to be a scratch in my engine bay done by a screw driver (its actually coursed by the plastic gaiter on the bonnet thats worn paint away over the last 4yrs)

I've picked up one of these from ScoobyClinic and fitted today. dead easy to do.

Now I don't have to look at the 'scratch' any more

If they don't and you ask nicely they may add one to their next supply order from the US

Let us know what happens.

Someone on here has already gone down that route without success.

I love how mine sounds, basically the previous owner has removed the back box and had a straight through pipe welded. The cats etc have not been modified in any way.

It is loud though and might not be to everyone's noise tolerances! I only do 3k miles a year so it's not a problem but could grow tiresome if I was always in it.

Update for you on the Eibach springs I'm after.

The PRO-R Eibachs don't fit the my08-10 cars (so ProR say at SUBARU) something to do with the my11 Spec C suspension is different to the ones on the MY08 cars.

there are the Prodrive Eibachs that DO fit my car, so I'm going for them instead.

Only difference I'll know is the Prodrive's are Black, whereas the ProR are Blue.

Prodrive springs are fine, gets rid of some if that front to back wobble you get on the hatch!

Ok thanks. My dealer is pretty poor so ill probably just get the part number from rob then. Are the prodrive springs not just the eibach pro springs that you can already buy for the hatch?
