08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
Great pics Mark, your hatch is looking great with the smoked trim & anthracite wheels
Looks like you had great weather too
Nice to see some many RB's in one place... I do like those 320's I must admit...

Mark,
From 2 pics from the bottom, looks like you can see thru the lower square front wing vent to the concrete below -was this open or did you mod it?
I'm sure on my 330S this is closed off as is the tall thin ones at back of the wing!

Erm, can one of you explain the RaceRom mentioned a couple of times on the previous page, is this the "toys" for ECUTek??
Or something better??
Mapping with Andy F early Oct, hope the toys are available for then, must mail him re the flat shifting, anti lag, launch control etc. in the ECUTek map!!
Found this...
The new EcuTek RaceRom is just awesome !
What's RaceRom?
RaceRom is EcuTek's new product that will allow new advanced ECU features in our Subarus.
Some of the Key Features -
-On the Fly Map Switching
-Launch Control
-Proper No Lift Shift (As in it doesn't break your motor)
Auto Blip
-Per Gear Boost Control
-Speed Density

I was out with my old classic Wagon import Impreza turbo Tuesday at Curborough sprint circuit with the CADS subaru club. ( 386 bhp, 360 lbft, AST coil overs etc ).
The friend who bought the car when I got the hatch STI wanted me to have a go in it and help him out ... no problem ;-))
On the way there there was a clicking noise from under the car, thought it was brake pad rattle. Couldn't find any problem.
Good day on track, some glitch with plugs or MAF but sorted and it went well.
My friend had put some hub centric wheel spacers on, 20mm, a few weeks ago. Well countersunk for the nuts to the hub's studs, good studs for the wheel, seemed OK.
During the day the car developed a clunk which got worse - the car had not run properly so not thrashed by then.
On the way home up the motor way the knocking under the car got worse, to the point the whole car was vibrating and the steering wheel was twitching badly left and right.
We stopped at the next services a mile away, and took off the front wheels.
WOW!!!
The wheel spacer had come loose, 3 of the nuts were finger tight on the spacer to hub, 1 a bit tighter and 1 had broken a stud! There was 1/4 to 1/2 " play in the spacer off the hub!!! This was the source of the knock noise as the spacer moved in relation to the hub / studs.
The other front wheel had no broken studs but the nuts were removable with pliers not needing a wheel brace!
Back ones were a bit loose too.
Not sure why / how they came loose but caused problems and some damage, and we were not far off loosing a wheel on the motorway!
If any one is fiting these "better" type of wheel spacers, I'd suggest checking them every few weeks.
I was looking to get them if we got the group buy going, but think I will pass on them now!
Cheers
V

Mark, I completely failed to get a pic of the two cars together! D'oh!!
Adding to the paint issue, mine has significant chips to front and bonnet. Doesn't really bother me that tbh as all my previous Subaru's had the same trait so I kinda expect to have to have the front resprayed every once in a while.
Rob - I've been told that the race-rom will be available in full format at end of year (when mine will be going for its big turbo, fmic etc) - has Andy F indicated a date to you?

I'll keep an eye on them
Car gone
Only left over I have is the Composite AV Cable used to play the Ipod through the Subaru Sat Nav unit. It is an original Mac one with stainless steel / aluminium plugs (nice) still boxed if anyone interested - long shot I know.

Quick one;
Would any of you hatch owners be interested if we produced the Cosworth style lower waistline spoiler from Solid Urethane for less than a ton?
As in pic below;

Would you provide the bonding stuff and / or fit it?
Is urethane easy to paint or need special primers?
Would want a bodyshop to paint, my efforts on the wagon STi rear spoilers I got off you ages ago were not perfect!!!
Spoilers were fine, my painting with aerosols wasn't great!

We can fit no problem, just can not paint at the moment, as our booth is converted into a lab.
Urethane is very easy to paint, exactly the same stuff from same suppliers as original P1 rear spoiler!!!!

Yes, definate for me, i've been deciding what colour to do it when and if some1 decided to reproduce it (in fact I was set to call Cosworth today to see who made them so i could purchase 1)
undecided if it was white that it would be lost and therefore pointless, therefore wrapping it in carbon 3M vinyl like i did on the front grill!!!

was thinking what my gauge options are (and that may have made my mind up.........
