Cost of the pistons what ever you decide to fit
headgaskets
inlet manifold gaskets
exhaust manifold and turbo gaskets
cam seals
timing belts dependant on mileage allready covered
oil/filter
coolant

basically engine removal and strip down to the block to get the pistons out so theres a fair few hrs work to do all that

Has anyone gots any pics of a hatch running either Prodrive GC-10's or GC-05's, there is a very slim chance I may be able to get myself a set (will explain if I can pull it off) but not sure what they will look like.

The 10's have an offset of 50 so will give me a slightly better stance over my 330s wheels and are still 8.5 wide, the 05's are only 8.0 wide but with an offset of 46 so even better stance wide.

Pics and comments/advice verey welcome.

Cheers

Quick question regardign tyre sizes.

ON mine currently I have 205 /50 r17's, been talking to a couple of guys here at work who run Seat FR's and they run 225/50 r17's. Would there be any difference on the 17 / 7 et 55 rims we have as standard on the WRX? The Seat rims are 17/ 7 et 54.

Going up to 225 means I can have the tyres I want.

plenty on teh NASIOC site but they tend to go mad on the et so you get a bigger dish then what you would see

i think his name is ghost rider, he runs the 10's on a 18 x 9 with et 25 or something crazy like that

he has a blue one with about a million $ spent on it

gc-10 were alway going to be my choice but cost of £500 a wheel from japan put me off

Cheers Guys, thanks for the quick responses.

RB5, Prodrive website has the GC-10 for £315 a corner (just one size and offset) which is not too bad, pic is not that good though and you cannot see what the side profile is like to well, found some on NASIOC but not in this fitment, If I can pull the deal off then may just bite the bullet and try my luck, can always sell them on I guess.

Found a couple of pics for you of the GC-010Es fitted in 18 x 8.5 ET51 (close enough!).

Incidently, don't know if you'd noticed or not but I'm selling a brand new set of these for less than Prodrive, see here

Cheers, Neil.

Cheers Neil, thats exactly what I was after, just cannot make my mind up if I like them or not in the UK fitment, also like the 05's but being 8's instead of 8.5's annoys me, I also need to fit my current tyres to these new rims (245's) which I think may be a little too wide for an 8 rim.

Without saying too much I may be able to get a set or Subaru rims on the cheap (not stolen or dodgy at all) but there is not a huge amount of choice.

330's
GT1
GT2 - 19's so too big
GC05
GC10

I think that is about it, I also thought there were the below BBS but cannot find them listed at all, plus I think they are about £400 a corner!!

Arron, you're right, 245 will be too wide for an 8" rim, you need 8.5". Also, the GC-05s being 8" ET46 are equivalent to 8.5" ET53 so will 'stick out' less than the GC-010s.

The BBS wheels are available from any Subaru dealer, part no (gold): 28111FG060, part number (silver) 28111FG070 - not sure on price though. They're also ET55 so 'stick out' even less than either of the GCs.

Cheers Neil, as soon as I think I have my head around wheel dimensions I get lost again but that does really help thanks, I think the BBS being 8.5 55 should sit the same as my current 330s rims which is ok, just not perfect but I'll just have to wait and see.

No problem mate. And you're right, the BBS and the 5 spoke lusterics are both 8.5" ET55.

Mark, she's going then is she, still worried about the engine or have you seen a new toy?

As for price, will she be sold standard or as she stands, I'd prob sell stadard as you'd get more for your mods if sold separtley, IIRC its an 09, prices seem to really vary 23k/24k maybe?? Just from looking at Autotrader, not many on there with ppp though.

No thanks bud, its not that sort of purchase

I'll pm you.

And a Focus RS, funny I was looking at a white one myself last week at a local dealer, the interior looked like it was in full on attack mode and made our STI's look like an old comfy Granada, very nice but not practical enough for me with the 2 doors missing and baby seats/nursary runs etc to contend with.

problem i had with the FRS is i drove it into the garage (its wider then teh STI) and the massive door means i cant actually open it more then 8" so cant get out the car!!!

it was so much nice to drive the the sti, more feedback and resistance thru the steering, the power was handled well by the fwd system and as you say the interior (and exterior) are leagues above the STI's stying.

i am still on tender hooks with the engine and i just hate that feeling cos the car is otherwise a monster of power that still puts a smile on my face.

The BBS alloys look great on the Hatch, just need that "tweek" to get them out to the arches..(20mm spacer).

I'm sure Iain would do you a deal on them, I heard £1k for a set from him... inc tyres?... compared to £2.5k when an option!

Zero Sports Cool action II's just gone on..... time will tell if it actually helps with the charged air temps....

plus I've just got an email from the Defi supplier in Japan.... goods shipped...

Iain's quoted me £500 to supply, fit & geo a set of prodrive springs too... so I'll wait till the spacers are on..then get it up to him for a day to get it 100%

scoobyl has some 20mm on the way and Im sure he will post some pics up when fitted, I have spoken to cdf and they were a little concerned that 20mm may be a little thin and recommended 25mm min which on a 55 offset wheel will bring the offset to 30 which may cause arch issues on the rear, am awaiting a call from cdf who are going to make me up a 25mm spacer to trial fit and take some pics of, once done will report back.
