Default Interesting

Did anyone else get an email from Donna Stock re the tracker?

Or was it just me?

On a more positive note - put my new wheels on (Thanks Revolution!) and checked with Subaru Insurance re the mod - no surcharge - nice. What is even nicer is that if I go for the Prodrive upgrade (springs and PPP) they will not increase the premium as long as I get it fitted by my friendly Scooby dealer.

Very tempted, and then a sneaky fat ARB and I'll be one happy chappy

Cheers

Default Bush kits

Just fitted today the Whiteline rear subframe positive traction kit, upgraded anti roll bar & steering rack bush kit, with a full alignment check.
This has transformed the rear end beyond belief, you now have a good idea whats happening, instead of catching you out.
The rack kit also has sharpened up the steering feel, without any harshness, a definite worthwile mod.

I just did my rear ARB at the weekend. I still have the positive traction kit to do. I tried it but I needed a longer bar with more power to get the bolts undone so had to wait to collect some tools back from my dad (he stole my 1/2" drive socket set) The bolts did seem awfully tight, but then I suppose better that than loosing the sub frame

Did you drop the whole subframe at once or do it a side at a time?? any tips you would care to share on changing these?? I'll do mine on weds night.

Cheers

Ben

The subframe bolts are v tight, i had the car on a wheel free lift, undid all 4 bolts, there is a wire that needs unclipping on the subframe on the rear l/h corner as its a bit strained when the frame is lowered, put a stand under the diff, then took the bottom damper bolts out,as the frame won't go down enough to fit the bushes with them fitted. Then took the 2 bolts out one side at a time, leaving the other 2 in, but about halfway out, the front 2 did have some road dirt/grit in them, this wants blowing out first, then sprayed them with wd40 & they slid in.
There is a lot of movement in the frame bushes so it wants carefull realignment on refitting. Copperslip the bolts on refitting, particurly on the underhead of the bolt it makes a big difference on refitting & if like mine readjusting the alignment.
Hope this helps, & be amazed at the results.

Cheers mate, thats just the info I was looking to hear
i may leave it till a time when I'm closer to getting the wheel alignment done. Was waiting for the prodrive lowering springs to be available and then do it all together. Especially if there is a lot of slop when refitting the subframe.

Have noticed the SMS reply number has changed and only getting location details not the usual battery and speed info. Did have to get mine replaced all together at 7,000 miles / 1 year as it was ubable to get a signal at all.

I got one full set of responses, but since then nada, zip, nothing. Am told by customer services that it responds to http queries, but not SMS. They seemed to imply it was a system wide thing. Not heard about the new number though. Will give IM another call tomos.

Meantime, 2000 miles in and 23 mpg seems to be the norm on Vmax (urban and A roads) and 28 for motorway jaunts (up to Carlisle a couple of weeks ago). All in all pretty please with that

Cheers

Same as me - 2k miles in, 23 mpg generally & 28 motorway driving. Only used one tank on Tesco99, doesn't seem to make any difference, otherwise using Vpower.
