Best fun car I've driven, back in the day, was a Vauxhall HB viva 1.3, no power but RWD. This was driven on a huge muddy expanse of fields with all my 18 year old mates playing chicken or trying to bonnet ride.
I'm still amazed that no one died but really learned about oversteer.

easily the best car I ever owned:
My old Sierra Cosworth. Nothing will compare with this car for looks, image and performance. I cant find a pic, but here is a nice video of me going for it.
Click here to watch Cosworth Donuts

My cheapest, a volvo 340 with race seat, cut springs and a welded diff. Fantastic fun, with serious sideways action in the wet and all for under 500 cash.

And my current steed, my M3 powered E36. I've poured fantastic amounts of money into this car, but its only when I give it some welly does it show on the outside.

caterham, without a doubt. fantastic little thing only driven one on a track and been a passenger on the road, but there's something about the whole experience that just makes me smile even thinking about it

every summer (or days like this week) i get tempted and have a look around autotrader. maybe this year will be the one

would totally agree with the hire car comment though, justy courtesy car was a total blast. didn't think a car so crap could be so much fun

Mini 1000e

Funniest bloody car to drive ever. Going over them painted lines in the road on the approach to roundabouts meant you HAD to put one hand on the roof to stop you bouncing off the seat!

Me and the wife (it was her car) decided to see what we could get out of it and took it down the A38 and used a hill to get top speed.

EVERYTHING was blurring. The dials, the steering wheel, the scenery, us. We're like shouting out the speed as the needle ssssllllooowwwlllyyy goes over 85....... 86...... 87..... 88...... 89...................90!! We have 90!!!!!

Hang on 91!!! Woohooooooo!!!!! We are now rattling our teeth the damn car was shaking so much and......92!!!! Yeehah! We are p*ssing ourselves laughing and there's cars passing us and the drivers are waving and laughing as they go past and we're hanging to anything for grim death, 'cos everything is rattling loose

Best thing was NEVER slowing down for bends. Brakes? Pah! Everyone else is easing off and we're accelerating into the buggers!

Wrapping tescos plastic bags around the dizzy to stop water getting in and spraying WD40 everywhere and coating the engine in the repellent stuff and still it cuts out half way up a hill in the rain. Bugger. ****. Sod. Wait for a bit and off again!

The only car I ever drove when I would always get out grinning. Also the only car I ever drove when I was never entirely sure I would arrive.....

Subaru Impreza Turbo

I don't care how badly Subarus are devaluated for being cheap and affordable to chavs etc., as the car offers sheer joy, and puts smile on our faces. We have had rapid Audis(that includes old 1983 WR too), VWs, and BMWs too. But nothing made us feel so exhilerated with flat4 sensation, as Subaru does.

Subaru is a great car for fun IMO.

TopGear hates them but my old classic SuperBeetle was so much fun to drive, could go over virtually any terrain and was nippy for a seriously old beauty (compared to snails/xr2's etc. lol).
I've never had more fun than I did in that car. Like fitting 14 speakers to the inside of it, for example, lol. Oh yeah and wondering if it was about to explode when I managed 110mph on a long stretch of erm, private road/private beach/runway/the longest bit of non public road ever

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's are what you need. Phenominal in the wet. Can easily take roundabouts faster than thr Scoob - unfortunately.
