Most Fun Car You Have Ever Owned/Driven?
 

Just been having a think about the years gone by and i have owned a few good performance cars. Surprisingly not the quickest one bringing the biggest smile.

Over the last 10 years i have owned:

• 1994 1.4 Ford Escort (Crap but amusing in a strange way)
• 1990 Mk2 Golf Gti 8 valve Big Bumper Version Probably the most fun i have had in a car, cracking to drive and had a great noise with the scorpion exhaust and induction kit. Loved the lift off Oversteer:D.
• 1993 Impreza WRX - Few suspension mods and HKS Exhaust, uprated ecu and decat (about 300bhp). Fantastic fun to drive on track and road, great on the ring. To date fastest accelerating thing i have owned, loved the pop and bangs and turbo whine.
• 2002 Clio 172 Phase 2 - As much fun as the Mk2 golf gti but a bit quicker. Probably gives the biggest smile to my face as its just pure fun.

Out of the above i think the most fun is the clio, despite not being the most fun its a real hoot:thumb:.
Scooby was great but just had too much grip to have fun unless you really go for it or are on a track. Although it was still great fun but i think the clio just gives a bit more of a smile.

Driven a few supercars and mates elises and tvrs recently but dont own them so cant really comment. Although the elise was amazing on a twisty road.
What experiences have you guys had?.

Most fun car is always a hire car :D

106 rallye maybe not as fast as my scoob.but i have so much fun in it and its cheap:thumb:

No contest for me, my Smart Brabus Roadster Coupe absolute hoot to drive, felt like a gokart. Shame it was so unreliable :(

Still love driving it even with 150k miles on the clock.

MX5 ...... by a country mile, actually!

Impreza the fastest, Calibra the best 'all rounder', Capri the most skittish ..... the rest were luxury tanks (nice and pleasant, but un-inspiring)

2.5ltr Diesel Granada MK11 in low cost white -- with Taxi Trim i.e. overlarge ashtrays

My Westfield SeW, 2.0 Vx XE engine, about 150 bhp, twin carbs, live axle.

Absolutely brilliant when the weather was nice and the car was actually working. Shame that was only about 2 weeks a year.

Ford Fiesta 1.1 ghia, popped my cheery in it and shagged a couple of other birds in it too :norty: :D

I remember that car broke down at the traffic lights in mk and you crashed it at donnington :)

She was a evil bitch good fun :)

I've owned quite a few powerful cars, but the most fun is a toss up between the Impreza WRX STI Type R and a Ford Puma. The Impreza had blistering acceleration and was properly mad but the Ford Puma was just a fun car to throw around corners.

(And I agree about the hire car comment!!)

Gonna be boring and say a 205 GTI 1.9.

It felt like it was fast, and just felt great to thrash.

It is not EPIC FAIL your next car had stoooooopid lights on :lol1:

owned =my current one 05 STI
driven = Porsche GT3.

205 1.9 GTi :thumb: Razor-sharp throttle response made it feel massively quick, and it handled amazingly. Found this more fun than the 1.6 GTi, and even better than the 1.9 GTi Turbo Technics which was extremely quick, but the standard 1.9 was just the perfect all-rounder IMO. Owned and driven plenty of other cars since having 205's, but none have come close.

Has to be said that was a cracking little motor that one Dave!

I've had some funky motors in my time, a few have been ex-rally cars as my mum worked for a rally prep company. My favourite car and one I wish I still had but its current owner wont sell it back to me :cry:

Mk1 Ford Fiesta, 1700cc engine, high lift cam, Twin weber carbs, cherry bomb exhaust, spax adjustable suspension, seam welded chassis, 5 speed Mk2 gearbox and lots of other bits.

Stuck to the road like sh!te to a blanket but would break your spine everytime you ran over anything bigger than a grain of dust.

One of these fitted with a 2.5ltr v6 from the sprint version.
It had a pudding stirrer gearbox. I redlined it away from The Level in Brighton one day racing an XR3.
1st...(redline).....2nd......(redline)....straight back into first instead of 3rd.

Probably my old Fiesta RS Turbo was running approx 280/290bhp from a 2.1 Zetec Turbo. Looked a dog but certainly suprised some more expensive machinery when it finally got its power down. Had to get rid, my poor arms could take no more wrestling with the torque steer. Plus 4 gearbox breakages in a year was starting to hurt the wallet ;)
Was a nice sleeper though

Beach Buggy; In the dry = Understeer (with a bit of lift off oversteer thrown in for fun)
In the wet it has a mind of it's own - understeer, oversteer, or both at the same time!

Had a very old Renault 5 as one of my first cars (cost about £50 10 years ago...), it was about 5 shades of Orange (it was actually red but faded, badly), was definately 'fun' handling wise!! :eek:

But now, quite happy with my S2000, fantastic fun to drive and cant see me parting with it any time soon. :D
