Finally finished off the sound deadening, Pauls work yesterday and I finished off the boot today. Also weighed the bag of deadening material that we actually managed to get in the bag anyway, it excludes the bulkhead matt material @ 9.6kg

Well I was back on it today as we had better weather.

Started with painting

Then moved under the bonnet, fitting a PAS pump, defi oil pressure sender & alternator belt

Then fitting the intercooler core and lower pipes and trial fitting the bumper, after a bit of cutting it goes on okay. Will fit properly at a later date.

And finally I started trial fitting the alloy rad, this was for a Legacy I think so a little bit of work to do with that

9.00am start today when Paul arrived and a good bit done, however we had 2 Impreza visitors toady, one for a change of ARB and another for a rear diff which slowed us down a little

Anyway a few more pics for you -

Paul likes the attention

On with the new boot we picked up yesterday

I made up some new brake pipe for the fronts as old ones had been cut

And Paul modded the fans on the rad to make sure they did not foul the headers

Rad in

Set of Lateral modded injectors in

And APS 3.5" downpipe on

And then it got dark

Didn't have a great deal of time on it today so just done a few little jobs. Thought I had better take out the fuel pump to make sure these was a Walbro in there, even though in it's previous life this car was running biggish power all I found was the standard pump ! Damn sold one not that long ago Then got on to doing some wiring under the dash to sort out the mess from a ripped out turbo timer.

Under the bonnet I connected a few things up and found I am missing an ignition amplifier

Fitted the fuel filter, there was no bracket so I whipped that off the car I am going to break Can't remember which pipes go where though on the fuel system.

Also sorted the holes to bolt the rear of the cage in, needs 2 people to get them bolted tight though

Few pics -

Yes mate, coming along. Finding time is the hard part tbh. It's the little jobs that take forever, spent ages making brake pipes for it Sat morning and fitting the rad. You think something is easy and it takes hours ! Still, I reckon on finishing it for end Feb ready to be mapped. Fingers crossed.

The jobsa may be easy but you don't work on the car often so getting motivated to work on something you rarely used is really hard

Got the bumper on this afternoon

First popped crystal indicators in

Fitted a cold air feed pipe

Made the hole in the inner wing bigger and used some old door seal to finish

Bumper on ..... eventually

Cold air feed

And my mate popped round in my old Wagon for a new air vent to replace the nasty mini scoop he had on. Not only has this car had the facelift treatment it also now has a RCM400 Garrett turbo which I fitted before it went, was mapped by Zen recently and really goes exceptionally well May be for sale again soon as my mate has now decided to go travelling for a year !

And todays progress -

Bits of dash, instrument cluster and wheel

The new brakes, 6 pot compbrake set up from Paul at Zen. Discs are knackered but I have some AP's and compbrake bells already

Then I got the fast car out of the garage to prepare for a visit to Scoobyclinic on Thursday. I will be testing their new 35R Billet turbo back to back with my current 35R. So on with some road wheels ready for the dyno

It registers bhp,1/4 mile and a few other things. It's more of a laugh but we can compare them to proper figures. If paul maps on the dyno before 30-130 I will have a figure to go from as well Are you taking me for a passenger ride? I only have one harness in mine so if you want a passenger ride in mine you wear a seatbelt

Don't ever do it as they are crap, they are a good toy/gadget but a crap phone. My proper phone is an HTC and its as good as any house phone. We will swap the iphone between the cars for a laugh I want to put it in the bannana But there is a good chance steven will have done a vbox reading in my car before 30-130 as he has just bought one and its either mine or marks he is going to play with
