Do you have a goal, given the stage of tune you have now - e.g. 9.5s or whatever?

Or are you just gonna keep on upping the power/shedding weight, etc...............?

I kept looking at this car everytime I was in the queue yesterday and knew I knew it from somewhere. Great results mate. Shame I didn't get to see you run. I was the silver blob despoilered and carbon scoop. Video makes good watching.

Excellent result as always Clive but I only noticed one seat? Were you lightening the car by removing the brown one or have you finally burned it

Have not got to bottom of it yet, seems to be overfueling massively. Took plugs out today and the were very black. Put some clean ones in and won't start now ! Going to change the reg to see if that has just failed.

check the engine wiring is not laying on the ht leads, especially drivers side the white large round plug that normally sits on the air box.. and passenger side the cam sensor wiring and all injector wiring.. needs to be at least 1cm away.

Although I would expect it to start on new plugs admittedly.

Very impressine result Clive. Well done. If your running/start issue comes back let me know as we have just gone through three weeks of purgatory to sort a similar fault on my WRX Wagon.

Just done a couple of little jobs on the type R today. I have never fitted gauges as yet apart for a boost gauge so today I sorted senders and wiring on the engine side for oil pressure/temp and water temp. Also popped in a dished wheel as flat style was not ideal with the seat position we have.

Drag car is all ready for next weekend at Elvington too

I have that wheel too!

Clive, did you manage to get the horn to work and indicators to cancel? If so I'd like to know what you did, if you don't mind?

Not sure you can get the indicators to cancel on aftermarket boss.

HA! Like me then.

Yeah, I have a momentary push/release button on the cowling for the horn, and no canceling. I'll just have 'to put up wth it'.

At least YOU don't need it as such, on a drag car.

I bought this one:-

Red Push Button surface mount with square bezel

Nice, positive action/strong spring, and small enough to be mounted pretty much anywhere. Mine's mounted in the extreme bottom-left of the steering column cowling - nice and ergonomic for your thumb to go to.

Plus, the square surround is a perfect colour match for the cowling (MY99 car).

Passed MOT on Friday too!

Many thanks mate.

But yours is a 1993 phase 1 right? I think the cancelling isn't effected by aftermarket bosses on those (I also had one/Momo Corse steering wheel on my old 1993). The system is totally different because it doesn't have an airbag.

The cancelling module on a MY99/00 car is on this donut ring thing (because of the airbag gubbins) ...

Busy day today, had a thermostat to replace on my new towing machine the Merc E320 and then set about replacing the turbo on the Type R. I made a massive mistake when orgininally fitting the S215, I left the small oil feed in the block for a roller bearing turbo. Took just 200 mike to destroy the unit Easy mistake to make but an expensive one.

Martyn @ Engine Tuner arranged for Turbo Technics to collect m broken one and supply a replacement unit. Many thanks to Martyn for that, top man.

I droped the oil also and replaced with some fresh, will run and replace again soon and hope no bits of compressor wheel have done any damage.

New turbo pics -
