Finally got the car back from my pals garage yesterday. Engine, drivetrain and cage are all in but that's about it so lots to do. Great timing with the cold spell so I doubt I will do much over the Xmas period. However it's a good time to get all the sound deadening chiped out with it being so cold so that's the first job.

I will get more pics up as I go now it's home

Clive

Unlike Daz D I have not had the option of working in the kitchen today

Started of by emptying the car of all rubbish

Then made a good start at the sound deadening before light stopped play

Another car here, not sure what I am doing with this one yet, it's minus an engine

LOL Clive,

This time last year I was taking off a six speed gearbox in snow and ice so it was a pleasant change to be working in the warm.

Unfortunately I'm back out in the cold tomorrow as I am putting the front suspension/sterring components back on mine.

Could you tell me what make of cage that you have please. I'm going to be caging mine but I really dont want to have to cut that flocked dash of mine if I can get away with it.

Cheers

Daz

Christ that brings back memories.

Having done all that on my UK classic I appreciate what an **** ache of a job that is.

If you want to tidy it up all nicely use a wire disc bit on the end of a drill. All the residue will be gone in no time.

Cheers for the info on the cage.

Yep, hate the job, not that long ago I did the blue one. The amount of times I hit my hand with the hammer !

I will try a wire disc tomorrow, ta. I was thinking about painting also ?

I'm also at the same stage at you at the min (just a little bit more sound deadening to remove)... Have you thought about how you are going to fill the holes in? Im not sure what to do with mine, just trying to find out some options

I am going to either clean up all the bungs that have come out and silicone them back in or buy some rubber grommets

I get it from Wrth UK Ltd. - the world's number one supplier of assembly products and consumables as there at the end of my road, but have branches all over the place

Other wise any company that sells the plastic for Roofing, windows and cladding should normally keep it in stock

Have the windows open tho as your be high very fast

Little more progress, today I had a some help from my pal Paul who owns half the car. Good job really as he's a foot shorter than me and he could actually get in the boot to finish off the removal of the sound deadening I fitted the rear lights and removed all the airbag loom. Then we got the wiper motor and arms fitted.
