Does anybody know how you convert BHP to WHP ? Or are they the same thing, in the US we rate our cars with WHP
Also what kind of Dynos are you guys getting your HP figures from .

Unfortunately the UK and US calculation of WHP varies.... we use the correct method of compensation for dynos and as a result UK WHP work out less than US WHP figures. We also use some dyno's that will calculate losses in the drivetrain/tyres etc to give accurate flywheel hp figures.
It may even be as close as to equate US WHP to UK flywheel ... perhaps.
If it is UK WHP to UK Flywheel HP then I tend to use around 18% for losses => 400 whp is roughly equiv to 487 bhp.

Intresting, with all these diffrent caculations of HP and diffrent reading dynos, I guess the only true caculation for a cars true speed and acceleration is through 1/4 mile times at the local drag strip . I do wonder what my 360 whp STi compares to other cars in the UK .

Hi a51,
tbh it's probably quite like a classic with 330 bhp, given the extra weight, but the greater stability makes the New-Age cars a phenomenon, and yes I am getting on a bit !
I loved my classic, but as a 40+, I need my creature comforts !
LOL
dunx
P.S. See you Sunday for the run to Tan Hill ?

Not quite Duncan, they are still just the machines best guess.
The only way to correctly obtain flywheel figures is with an engine dyno.
I completely agree with your Yank theory though, their WHP figures are generally quite close to our FWHP figures.

By virtue that Andy Forrest has done the fastest 1/4 mile I know of in a Subaru, and that Zen performance wasn't so far behind. Maybe Olly Clark, but does he post on here?

TDO6 50LB TURBO
FMIC
Agua Mist methanol Injection
740 injectors
Big Maff
TGV Deletes
port and polish stock headers
Cobb 3 inch downpipe with invidia n-1 race turbo back
Cobb AP
and pro tune
With this set up I can get close to 400 whp with a aggresive pro tune, just dont want to push the stock block .
