Not sure if they are the highest, but Harvey Smith's wagon is quoted at 585bhp, and I seem to recall him once getting a reading of 618, but I may have dreamed that.

Andy Forrest IIRC got 556, but his car could do an astonishing 210mph.
Then there's this twin turbo supercharged effort from America....
....which was supposedly gonna go over 800, although their website claims IRO 600 (or 443WHP).

I believe Harvey and Andy both state their cars are reliable and suitable for daily duties. In fact, I think it is a condition for TOTB that they must be road legal in every way.
My mate (Paul Crafts) used to own what is now one of Scoobyclinics Time Attack cars and that ran 500bhp as a daily driver. I think I'm right in saying that another buddy (Dave Carter) runs IRO 500 on an 05 STi.
KnobbySP1 (Ian) had his car built by Scoobymania to run a potential (warrantied) 800, but for reliability and daily use ran it at 500. If he still has it (not seen him in ages) it is now maintained by RE Motorsport.

Skullfudge and Marty run 700bhp RCM P1s.... RCM Gobstopper runs 750bhp without nitrous, 850 with.
There are loads of 500+ people on here, I'm distinctly underpowered at 450bhp in my P1. Having said that it's probably worth saying that 450 in a classic is a nice level for the road - low lag ( pretty much the same as OEM ) and driveable in most conditions. Big power is good for the track/drag, but can end up laggy/narrow power band.
