Does a spoilerless scooby spoil handling?

Soon Lexus will be putting an STI style spoiler on their cars if this trend continues, in a bid to take the styling stakes.
Sod functionality, pretty spoilers look the dogs...

The early TT's were recalled to have that little spoiler added but some tweaks were also made to the suspension and traction control as well. I remember reading an article about a fella who had previously had an Escort Cossie and couldn't understand how his brand new Audi had landed him upside down in a ditch!!

I know i keep posting it, but i've had my car like this now for over 2 yrs, and many miles, many different types of roads and driving style...... i have tested it (on track) at speed in excess of double m/way speed limit, and i have had NO odd feelings, the back does not feel light, and i certainly haven't 'spun' or anything as a result of removing the spoiler........ maybe it's due to the 2lb of lead i bolted to the bootlid to stop it ending up omn the back seat when i open the boot from inside...LOL!!
