P1 Update.
Heard from RCM today and Olly advised that certain fabricated parts have now arrived and they are cracking on with it.
The stainless steel waste gate flanges were causing delay, however they are now sorted. Induction parts have also arrived.
They are now cracking on with the induction and are awaiting a couple more parts in order to complete.
Should not be too long now

Waiting for parts is a pisser.
For instance my new GT35R left Canada at 11pm arrived in Louisville Kentucky a couple of hours later. An hour after that it left there. Arrived in Newark a couple of hours later.
Two hours in Newark before it left for Blighty its now been sat at the airport here for 3 bloody days.
Good old British efficiency. I feel like driving down and picking the bugger up myself!!!

Well as I live very close to Brands Hatch I can fully understand the residents complaints, not only do we have an ever increasing number of events but most of the weekdays are now used for trackdays, testing and driver training. I do realize that Jonathan Palmer has improved the circuit, the surrounding area and improved liaison with the residents. But profits have to be made and the small sum from this meet is not worth the discomfort that a very small number cause the local residents.
It's a shame that the testosterone filled guy's couldn't control it untill either Wrotham Hill or the M25 but Ha Ho a couple of twits have lost an excellent venue for ALL.

That is a real shame
.The perfect venue ruined by a couple of *****.
It was a bit harsh. Maybe Brands should have contacted the MLR with a view of
" We have had complaints from local residents in relation to noise issues outside the circuit. The event will be stopped if we receive further residential complaints".
I know ScoobyHoo will have a view on what I am about to say as he does live within a stones throw of Brands but, hey I am only expressing my view Hugh
If people are planning to move or buy a property within 800 Mts of a race tracks boundries, it requires a very low I.Q. rating to understand that the race track will often develop noise.
If I moved to a property that was adjacent to a sewage works, I hardly feel as though I would be regarded as "normal" if I wrote to the local authorities moaning about the smell ?.
That fact that motorbikes blast up and down the same stretch of road does not come into the equation.
As aforementioned, I believe the management of Brands could have dealt with that a little better issuing a warning first, before just banning the event totally, not to mention the long term revenue they have lost.
I believe that residents that were living there BEFORE the racing / noise started, DO have a right to complain.
As for current local residents?, they chose to live there and they have no right at all to moan about noise generated from a race circuit that has been there since it's first racing events in 1926.

I don't think that circuit activity is a problem for the residents Clive it's the racing along the A20 afterwards. Bikers are known to speed up and down the A20 and a high police presence is sometime evident. But this is not because of a night meet at Brands Hatch.
With regards to noise I don't feel the need to voice an opinion with any activity on the track but I will complain if my drive becomes an extension to the track.
From a residents perspective Brands Hatch has always had stringent planning laws enforced and the residents have always tried to accommodate new ideas and circuit improvements.
I purchased my home because of it being close to the circuit 25 years ago, at that time the track was being used 26 times a year now its over 200. This might account for the move by residents trying to keep the evenings quiet.
I do wish the Brands had consulted MLR with a view to MLR policing the meet themselves.
Great meet lost mores the pity.
But ha this is of thread.
Yes Clive I'm still waiting you know what for.
I respect your point over extending Brands Hatch into your garden Hugh, and I do understand about having guys racing past your properties.
That's the problem, it's not so much the noise generated from the race cars on track, but more the ***** who leave the track after a race meet, you know the ones I mean, "Harry Flatter's and his mates who are all 100% convinced that they would have been a former or current F1 world champion if only they had the opportunity"
In the real world Harry F & most of his mates s**t themselves when they have a go in something really quick. They start sweating like a rapist, and develop a seriously rapid facial twitch........... strange !

A few of us within the SIDC have been thinking of a way around this Brands Hatch Jap meet issue, and it was suggested that maybe the MLR (Evo forum) may want to assist.
We looked at it that if more than one car club showed interest it may prove beneficial to all concerned, so I registered with the MLR and dropped a post in their general forum.
I started the post by explaining that I had an interest in Japanese performance cars and had recently test drove an Evo 9, & an Evo 10 among others, and after carefully weighing up the handling, power and general feel of the car I had no option but to purchase an awesome piece of kit, a Subaru P1
I then went on to say "just kidding" and explained the Brands issue.
Went back online an hour later and they had deleted the entire post

Oh, well done Gramps, I could not find it anywhere and thought I had pi**ed them off. cool
Work this one out.My wife has an Audi TT 3.2 convertible. Only has 24K on the clock and it just stopped on a motorway last week !!.
To cut a long story short the Audi dealer plugged it in and found it had ran out of fuel, and ended up being the two faulty sender units. It was showing half a tank of fuel where in reality it had ran out.
So yesterday I took the car to a Nationwide Auto Centre to have the senders replaced.
Today was fairly sunny and I had three phone calls today from friends saying that they saw a guy driving my wife's car around the town with the roof down, and we have yet to collect the car !.
Does that seem right ?
