Now, don't take offence here....
But as much as this is an awesome spec car, I really don't see it as a 'project' thread, when all you are doing is dropping your car off along with a serious amount of cash...

Hi SkullFudge,
Thought I would pop over and have a look at your project thread. Looking good
I wouldn't worry about what people say about spending so much money on your P1, I have spent over £80k on mine so far if you include the price of the car and I still have a long way to go. At the end of the day it's up to you what you spend your money on.
Regarding the engine, I have gone down a slightly different route than your spec due to the high amount of HP and torque I will be running in the next year or two. I went for the most extreme bottom end that RCM could do as I know how much abuse it will be getting. With nitrous and race fuel, and the right turbo I could be close to 900bhp in a few years so the only option was to copy the spec of the team ice car and Gob Stopper ,and go for the full WRC team Ice crank which uses different(smaller) ,bearing journals and WRC main bearings, modified oil galleries, double woodruff key for the pulleys and bigger flywheel bolts. And its also 2kg lighter.
For the con rods I went for the RCM Extreme which are rated at 10000rpm and allow me to use the larger nitrous pins and lower compression pistons. The above has been run up to 900bhp in the Team Ice car this year already without any problems.
Mind you 600bhp is enough for me at the moment. That will rip your face off as you will soon be finding out
The reason I am going on race fuel is not just about the power. The engine will run much better on it and the turbo will spool up 500rpm sooner .Also with a race tank I can control the weight of the fuel much better thus reducing the weight of the car and eliminate fuel surge, as at the moment I have to run with 3/4 tank of fuel. With a race tank i can run on 10 litres or less.
Keep the pics coming
cheers,
Marty

Hi Marti, good to hear from you.
(Money/cost thingy). Thanks for the advice. Had my fair share of it, needless to say you have too.
Glad things are going well. Yours is going to be insane when finished. Did you manage to gain further grip from your upgrades?, I think I will have the same problem.
Have you not considered there NO2 system??
I was talking to Matt,Olly & Mark at Snetterton Sunday and I have bought forward the new suspension. The EXE TC will be fitted in two weeks. They have 3 projects to finish first then I am back at the end of Jan.
Together with their new twisted turbo kit is arriving late Jan / early Feb and I am now having the new gearbox, prop and shafts changed at the same time.
Not sure what Turbo they are fitting 30 / 35? but 580bhp was mentioned. To achieve the 600 + race fuel was also mentioned. Twin tanks etc as you stated.
To be honest 580 will do. I believe race fuel would provide a potential 700.
That's going to give me some grief with traction.
The guys comments in this thread are correct in saying that nothing much will be achieved.
IF the traction problem can somehow be eliminated then I would have a go.
Good luck Marti. Don't forget when you reach TS's of 150mph or more the next thing you will be ordering is a parachute BDRA rules I believe.
Cheers mate.

so whats the point,u may aswell have a fully stripped out drag car
and like someone else said projects are for people who do there own work and not people who have a head as thick as there wallet
am not having a dig at anyone on here (except steveBT) but WHY,go for so much power when it will be no faster on the road??
i do understand if you dont use it the taxman will
but cant understand why someone would spend all the hard earned for more and more BHP

If you look at all the time attack cars they will all be in the same region for boost target! and that will be full boost by about 4k rpm similar to mine. Are you now trying to tell me you little 20g will keep up with my gt35?? You need a big turbo to have a proper quick car. My car has more lag than your 20g but it would leave yours for dead off the mark and do a far quicker 0-60 time
If I was racing my car around a track I would always be on boost anyways
but cant understand why someone would spend all the hard earned for more and more BHP

When i had my Scoob, i was running 313/300 on a set of Godspeed disks and ebc pads. I would have kept this setup if id gone over 400bhp and beyond - my point is simple and i expect one or two others to buy into this too. The car to me was always all about the feeling that the shove in the back gave me. I had no interest in braking late into corners and taking them at warp 4 as i don't have the talent, don't want the risk and i want to keep my licence. Coming off a roundabout and boosting it up was all i needed. In 80k miles of having it i think isuffered brake fade on 2 or 3 occasions at most.
It's not always about how fast it is point to point, but about how it makes you feel behind the wheel

It's like Stevebt says, everyone's view of "fast" or "quick" is different. A lot of it depends on what a person has driven. My wife has a 3.2 V6 Audi TT and many would class that as a fast car if they drove it. If you then drove my car you would be shocked just how slow the TT was.
Why do I want more bhp?, why do guys want to drink 12 pints when they know that 6 pints will do the job?
If it cost £ 300.00 to achieve 600bhp most guys would do it...... and that is the main reason why there are not many high spec cars out there.
