Project P1 600bhp +
I think it's safe to conclude that we shall all receive a ticket from MET Parking Services, (MET standing for "Minimum Eating Time").
Here's what we can do:-
This will involve all who received a parking fine, plus I shall get another 50 so we shall have 62 motors.
I will write to Mcdonald's (Canary Wharf) and inform them of the following:-
Dear Sirs.
I, along with several friends have been remitted a £ 50.00 fine from MET Parking Services as a result of selecting YOUR premises for something to eat. We feel this to be unjust and wish to inform you of our intentions.
We shall be attending your branch (one) Saturday in the near future at lunch time. All 62 cars will filter into your car park with all driver's purchasing a coke. Being law abiding citizens we shall depart after 55 minutes.
On leaving your car park we intend to drive around the large roundabout and return "to your empty car park"
with all driver's opting to purchase an orange juice.
By this time will shall be feeling peckish, so after 55 minutes we shall leave your car park, head for the roundabout and return.
If your car park appears to have the spaces (of which I am f*****g certain it will do), we shall park up for a further 55 minutes to enjoy a small portion of fries.
Love
Baly x

Had a formula response from MET Parking Services with regards to the restricted parking time.
Dear Sir.
We noted your comments with regards to the parking limitation imposed at the Mc Donalds Canary Wharf site and related fines.
We have been instructed to police the location and are contracted to do so.
As part of our customer care, we have posted large signs informing all uses of the site, of the time restriction and that fines with be imposed if the stay exceeds 1 hour.
The reason for this action is to deter casual parking, which would use parking spaces designated for paying customers.
We will persue all unpaid fines most vaermently and as you chose to park at your own free will "HARD LUCK"
What a larf, glad I didn't get a ticket.
LUCKY I'M ONLY JOKING

"Twisted turbo kit" looks like the Clark Bros have put a lot of thought into it.
Nice to see such good work. Hope it's not hidden to far out of sight when the bonnets up. I'm almost as exsited as you are and it's not even my car.
I think they've gone up to 44mm wastegate from the 38mm 4bolt type.
I was wondering if there are any other changes i.e different wastegate location and not going round the outside of the ps steering assembly.

My understanding is that the previous RCM twisted kits weren't fitting on straight away - a few adjustments here there.....This new kit is supposed to be a perfect fit apprantly.
Eureka - I know I know...check out my second para.
My kit was generally a fairly good fit. There was certainly a knack to it but when fitted was spot on.
You had to put it altogether with every bolt being loose (including all the header bolts) then you nipped up the turbo to head bracket first then everything else.
The only fitment issue I had was that the wastegate take off from up pipe to down pipe went around the steering arm and was very close to the power steering pipes. These had to be bent slightly out of the way and wrapped in protective heat proof wrap to protect the ps lines.
But once fitted they were faultless.
I would imagine that being 44mm Wastegate all fittings will be of the V-band type as opposed to the 4 bolt type of mine.
Here's some pictures of my kit.

This was it assembled prior to going into my last car.

that's all I can say......
pmsl!So what is the purpose and advantage of having a bigger wastegate??
Eureka/ScoobyHoooo - Are you going to be joining us for the 8th Feb meet? Eureka - till waiting for your call.....
Thinking
of meeting up at a Harvester which allows us to park cars without risk of being
fined.....
and also can have a bite to eat and drink. What you lot reckon?

prevents boost creep - i.e you want you turbo to produce as much boost as the fuel can handle as quickly as possible and last to the red line. The wastegate controls boost by bleeding off exhaust gasses when the turbo is producing too much inlet boost - if the wastegate is fully open and the engine is producing so much exhaust gas that it not enough can be bleed off through the wastegate - boost will creep up and over boost - damaging the engine or reducing power if you have a good ecu setup with closed loop safeguards.
Essentially big power needs bigger wastegate to control boost -allegedly.

No parking ticket here chaps - the advantage of keeping my car filthy?
Just back from having the 6 speed dccd, exe -tc stainless and new brakes fitted - Cheers Paul. Sy and Skull - the suspension is good isn't it! It's nice to be finally able to stop again too.
Just need to get the cosmetics done now and we're back on track.Skull, was is JPL bodyshop or something you said looked after yours?
There was a funny looking 1.5Gl in Zen as well when I was there. I'm sure it was the Turbinator demo car...

Hi fb - yes the exe tc seems smoother than my previous set up, but not been able to use the car in anger yet, so dont know how well it performs yet. I tend to prefer softer set ups, so have got the adjusters on the softest settings, may change the springs to slightly softer ones to improve launch - but feels very promising as it is.
I doubt you saw a 1.5GL Turbinator car - theres only 4 in the world and the Sultan of Bruni has 3 of them in dry storage

Sounds good Fatboy, I bet the car feel better now!. What setup are you running for road use John?
I find setting 20 is good for road use. I was also running 20 at The North Weald Track Masters day and it provided very good stability in tight turns (very tight), as well as a flat out long sweeping bend.
One thing I have noticed on the road, when you hit a certain manhole, ridge or something similar it can sometimes catch you out!.
It sure produces exceptional grip levels when tanking it, amazing tech.
Here is the link for the body shop I use.

They are good, very good. Speak with James or Darren (the owners).
