You are correct about running out of road, as any of the guys running 400+ will tell you the same.

When I was running at 320bhp I was told the difference between 300 & 400 was big, and it is.
When you are Harry Flatters you get somewhere else very quickly.
You also need to be on the case regarding braking distances too.

I have also been told by good sources that the difference between 400 & 600
is huge.
Having experienced the jump from 310/320 to 420/430 in the same car, I am expecting it to be hilariously good.

With RCM's NO2 it will be over 700. At the moment, I am not sure what that's going to feel like?
600 is just madness on the road, it is impossible imo to use the power, track and drag is the place to use that sort of power. I also have a wagon at 330ish and a couple of other motors around the 300 mark and they are quick enough for the road.

SY - City pride is good for me and the 8th would definitely be better for me. It may even be adviseable to speak to pub landlord and ask for more lights and reserved spaces

JP4 i'm up for it as long as it's on the 8th of Feb and you aint the only one expecting drinks as my birthday is also in Feb

Could we make the meet a little later as i might be working that weekend to and finish from cannon st at 4pmish and will take me 10 mins to city pride. So maybe 4ish meet? if that ok will all on the 8th Feb 2009?

Later on Sunday the 8th is good for me - not too late mind - Antiques Roadshows on, its a repeat - the one where Arthur Negus has too much sherry and smashes an old lady over the head with a giant Victorian carved wooden ***** and then asks if its insured.

Just got in and got handed a penalty notice.....to my surprise it refers to the mcdonalds at billingsgate market.

Guess what there's a limit on the stay at Maccy d's and it's 60 mins i was there for a whopping 175 mins will be £50 lighter tomorrow....

Sy if you get the chance on your travel please have a look if they're displaying any signs regards to the above...much appreciated

That's a bloody cheek, Baly.

We all ate there that night too, so, surely as patrons of the place, you should be immune from that (especially as we were about 90% of the clientele) and, secondly, it's a private place, not the "Queen's Highway" so I very much doubt they could make it stick.

Different story if they've got your car in a clamp and you want to get home, I know, but that's not the case here, so I'd be inclined to tell them to go whistle.

seems like i'm the only one then, must make that number plate smaller i think.

Oh well what can one do, i hate the legal system always fighting the damn thing. I will probably just pay it unless someone can pop there and check what the board actually says. Oh well enough of me ranting

Was this the nite we were there?

Throw it away - they will never take you to court. They will theaten but private property - i always thow them- after 2-3 letters they give up. If they take you to court Ill pay it.

I got clamped 2 weeks ago in a retail park (Whitechapel Halfords) only there 10 mins, but walk across the road to a phone shop- came back clamped - told not allowed to walk off the site - phoned my mates - they turned up 45 mins later with a grinder and a genny and a few hammers - clamping guy was sitting there in a berlingo on his own -guy took it off with no payment and asked me not to tell the other people clamped (mostly women) that he took it off for free.

Lowlife bullies.

If it's just MacD's property I can't see how they can enforce it.

I would (and will if I get one) write a snotty letter back to them pointing out that as paying customers of theirs (who chose to go there to spend our money rather than one of their rival's establishments, and, furthermore, chose a very quiet time on a Sunday night for them ) that they are being unreasonable. I will also state that I will not be paying it and if they want to push it I will be happy to discuss it with them in the press via my media contacts...

That or I'll get Sy tto go around with his disk cutter

Cheeky *******.

That's probably the first time in 10 years I've been to one and probably the last as a result of this.

I havent read the actual sign at Macy ds but most of them say that over 2 hrs and you get a ticket.(I guess they are trying to stop people parking there and going to the station/work and using it as a free car park). If i get one, I will be doing my normal process - small jiffy bag, fill it with dog sh*t - put the ticket in it and send it back to them - funny, after 2-3 letters they give up - not sure why. So if you see me walking down the street with rubber gloves on - u no y.

Hi Sy. Text Matt an hour ago to see if the new turbos are in yet. Just waiting on that at moment. 6 Speed, rear diff & prop are already up there. Silly making to trips.
Clutch more than likely the triple plate G.

Have you achieved your 5 tank loads yet mate?? map?

I too received one of those frigging £ 100.00 fines or £ 50.00 if paid in from Mcdonalds car park.

"Met Parking Services" 2 photos with number plate and time!.

So if a mini bus full of kids and a couple of carers/teachers parked in Mc's and they took just over an hour in there, they get charged £ 50.00.

England is starting to take the p*ss

Ok so what's the group decision on these tickets? And how comes i was the first to bloody get the damn thing?

Hmm Fudge - what turbo is it that your actually going for? I'm assuming it'll be a modded garret rotated to? A few model numbers wouldn't go a miss.

Just thinking the same myself Ian.
Not wishing to sound "Upper Class" but we Subaru drivers aren't Corsa Chavs and we do pay for our petrol / Mc coffees.
Perhaps we should turn up on the 4th and cover the number plates and all stay over the hour.

I got a ticket as well - you will notice the only address is a PO box and the only telephone line is an automated payment line.

Ignore it - its a civil matter and will cost them more than 50-100 to take you to court - they will send 2-3 reminders - then a letter from a so called legal firm.

I wont be paying - now wheres that poodle with the burst piles!!!

This is unbelievable, we all spent money in Macd's and then end up getting fined?!

you serious Sy? if that's the case I'm not paying it.

I shall just tell the judge that the guy who gets a stiffy watching The Antiques Roadshow and shares an interest in the internal matter hanging from dogs **** passages said it would be alright not to pay it
