It's mad. I told my wife I was not prepared to pay that. She found a company in Surrey that supplied & fitted a new genuine Audi soft top for £ 1640.00 inc.

In the same breath Audi do invest huge amounts and make some of the best cars on the road. Their engineering is brilliant.

Clive, you need to apreciate the skill level you are getting for £120/hr. You will be getting and ex kwikfit fitter, who only qualification is to be able to air gun your locknuts on so tight that your never get ya wheels stolen But at least you know that if there is a fault on your Audi,, they will change every part untill the fault goes away

Just had new Insurance Quote!

It's tempting to try and get away with it, but I need to declare all mods & power details rather than sh*****g myself if I get pulled over, or worse.

Fully comp / 6000 miles / £ 895.00 with access at £ 600.00 rather than the normal £ 500.00. All mods declared / 600bhp.

Further proposed mods/bhp included with £ 895.00.

Track Days at £ 60.00 per day with access at £ 1,500.00.

The only downside was the current value of car. The max I could get was 25-30K pay out of which I was assured they would meet.

Gary Moulson at Keith Michaels Insurance.

Gary tried several brokers and only one was prepared to insure me.
I thought it was a good deal considering especially the track day cover.

Before phoning Gary I tried 18 companies that are known to specialise in cars that are a bit violent, and not one was interested.

Oi....you'll give us Saarf Londers a bad name!

I'm with A-Plan, but if upon renewal this year they don't sort me out then Sh*t will ...in other words I will be off to Gary.

Might even have some brakes and new suspension by then ( and possibly even a 6 speed dccd)

Clive, will your car be back from Matt and Ollie by then?

Jag, so what was Sy selling in this "booth" of his - a wide range of turbonators, I assume...

Not sure John, only waiting for the new Turbo & associated bits. Everything else is already there. Olly said they should be arriving at the end of this week.
I'll jump in with Eureka if he is coming, and does not mind

As for Sy's booth - I refuse to look again.... or else I may get tempted to transfer "it" into my booth.....

Fingers crossed on the bits arriving, Clive, although 600+ will be a laugh in this weather

Jag - Ap rotors and custom bells so that I can retain the Alcon / Prodrive calipers that I currently have. I like the calipers - it was the Alcon one piece disc that kept warping (and cracking right through in one case...).

We'll see, but I like the pedal feel of the Alcons (when the rotors were new and i was runningh DS3000 pads/slicks on track they worked really well), and I've 3 sets of 17" wheels so I'm not about to cough up for new brakes and wheels.

As far as I'm concerned, the calipers are probably as good as AP 4 pots and I'll now have AP discs so...

No problem, do you want the full slicks or the intermediate slicks?Neither will meet with the approval of the local plod, nor will they handle that well on wet/icy/slippery roads...

Nar m8 - did want to go out in the salt ridden roads - and too busy at work at mo.

Its acually 5 tins of fuel - which are 19 litres each, (my tanks 26 litres, so nearly a tank). If I go to me sisters in Hoddersdon from Canary Wharf and back again - it uses a tin I cud easliy 'run it in' in a day at that rate, as ive used 2 tins already.

Just need a date for final mapping, then I will ensure its run in, new oil + filter, new plugs, plenty of fuel before delivering to the mappers. Oh - and need to get 2 bottles of Nos as well

Sleeper

Best to start with the intermediate ones first as practice.......will check with my "advisor" (Mr Sy-aagi ) on that! Take it they are 17s??

Talk bout icy & slippery road.....that sat night we all met up, having left MacDs....my back end nearly went on me round one of the bends....StiBaly had a great view and a laugh as he was behind me!
