The ONLY time the engine has played about (failing map sensor) was also the only time I have been on the strip and I knew it was going to be a handful.

I should have stayed in the pits. Hopefully Mrs Madhammer will film a proper launch next time.

Clive: what was your best time around the cones mate ?
The fastest I saw was the guy in the pink "Clinic" car 26.0 something.

Skipping back to the purpose of this thread I will be talking with RCM over the following days regarding more power.

Difficult to know what route to take. I hear many suggestions or options from other guys but as of yet have not sat down with Matt or Olly to discuss.

I think the way forward will be to leave the turbo as it is and see what options are available for a small shot of NOS & run on 20% meths. The NOS should increase power levels whilst in the lower rpm but not sure about head gasket issues.

RCM will have the answers when we chat.

Still having Launch Control, Air Con removed and Carbon Prop though.

I have Anti Lag already Mneame but I assume the NOS will supply more power until spooling ?

RCM will know the exact shot of NOS I will need and I think that when Dave R maps the car the NOS will be programmed to activate at a certain rpm then deactivate at a higher rpm through the M800 to keep it within the safe zone.

I always thought that nos should be used on wot, in which case the turbo would already be well into spooling and also because of the als. I didn't realise it could be programmed / controlled by the ecu to only run at lower rpms. I need to read more threads in the technical section .

What about running a small supercharger in addition to the turbo to get the grunt lower down? Seen it done over on nasioc. I guess for the benefits of having it, there are other ways to get the same result.

This is a quote from Pat when I asked about Nitrous on my own car "a 50 shot will spool the turbo like mad, and 50BHP at 4000RPM will net you 65lb/ft"

Did you hear someone say it, or did someone tell you they heard it Steve ?

Can't understand why someone would say that when neither you or Suzy ever used the Type R in any serious competition

What can anyone compare Big - Fud's performance to ????

Having read Eureka's (Steve's) post why would anyone say that, when they have nothing to compare to

Guys

The whole purpose of this thread was to try and achieve a 600Bhp P1 adapted for road & track use.
If I knew then what I know now I would have named the thread differently.

Basically RCM have always known I wanted to retain as much of the P1 look as possible and to use it as my daily car. The car has had many mods and the engine has had several power increases and in reality the car is now at the dreaded point.

To achieve 600 will involve different fuels and before you know it the car will be on a trailer more than the road.
Olly has given me some sound advise together with a huge list of what they could do.

Deep down I know that the P1 is currently at the best it will ever be (when considering the initial aim)

I told RCM exactly what I wanted and I now need to realise I have it.

I know that if I continue it will end up an 800 – 900 Bhp monster and that I will regret I had done it.

What RCM have done is totally nuts. When the combination of the engine, trans, suspension, brakes and the P1 chassis gels together it has produced a car that is truly mad to drive fast. Forget the drag racing on the roads I'll be honest in saying it's fookin scary when driven fast, real scary.

PROBLEM: I also know there is a heap more power in the thing

ANSWER: Project Nr 2

So for all the guys following the P1 thread the P1 is now finished

What originally started as a single page thread (on the advice of two mates) is now 100 pages of many posts and heading for 100,000 hits and that’s just mad.

It now seems more like a forum for us Bbp junkies and that’s cool.

Made many good mates and if you lot want to carry on as a forum until Project Nr 2 starts then let’s go for it. .

It proves a good base of contact as well as a laugh.

Finally a huge thanks to RCM.
Ok it's general knowledge that they are not the cheapest but for quality, presentation and performance they will take some serious beating..... Truly awesome.

As for Project 2 look out...... This will be proper quick

Glad your keeping the P1 at this level because as you say any further and i think it would probably spoil a brilliant car

Can't wait for project 2 though
