Now whenever i've been to meets (and I try my hardest to stay away) it's like sheep following a shepherd ... instead of doing what you are told to do people should just do their own thing and respect everyone else for what they are and what they have. In previous years meets were jam packed full of enthusiasts ... now it's more about showing off, licking **** and commercial success.
You forgot to mention 10% comissions

In response to the OP Wozza,
Like a lot of peeps on here I still use both but I believe the main reason is that we have changed. Over the last 5yrs my life like so many of us on here has changed dramatically.
The same can be said for the club because after all it can only reflect the members. The days when 15 cars was a busy meet have long gone.

As for the lost sparkle thats down to all of you. You only get out what you put in and to be fair for several years the main people doing the putting in were Tiny & Karen. Yes lots of us have chipped in with help as and when but Tiny was the driving force and since he lost interest nobody else took up the mantle until Bri4n.

Like most above I've been there done it and never bought a pink shirt
Yes there is life outside of the ESC but would I have been able to have met so many great peeps without it? I doubt it

Now please excuse me as I have a committee meeting and have to get back to planning how I'm going to annoy the hell out of everyone going to Germany

Rob, you crack me up.

if you did not want to go to a meet you really would not have to try very hard not to!
Unless of course you can't resist the opportunity to show off your latest toy, so I guess your comments are correct!

I think most things have been said already, I know I have been out of the loop for a while now since things have changed in my personal life. I have been trying to get back on the scene again now as and where I can so I am looking forward to getting back involved But what with me working most weekends, and Nic working in London its often difficult to find the time to make it along

I'm glad you remembered that m8 as I have never forgotten it Although I had been coming to meets for about 6 months I hadn't actually spoken to anyone This was my 1st contact with anyone in the ESC as I am quite a shy person I found it hard to get intergrated into the club. SO I think you had to put up with me hanging around you like a bad smell meet after meet trying to get to know people

not at all ... as anyone knows with me i'm more than happy to let people I know drive my cars and see what they are like. Nothing to do with showing off at all ... I am a subaru enthusiast and buy any new car they make because I want to sample everything the brand has to offer. I use my cars properly too and don't just polish and take photos of it ... that's another subject though. I challenge anybody to disprove me on this fact!!

In response to your point. I actually really enjoy some of the meets, so it is difficult to stay away from them ... but I have principles and some of the people who go to the meets are absolute c***s and I said before I was out so I try my hardest to remain out.

Come on admit it, you were desperate to show off your new car, that's why the day you got it, it was at the posers.
I am sure there was also an element of 'told you so, said I was getting a new one and I have', which I fully understand.

you clearly enjoy the ESC thing more than you let on, or why keep coming on here and attending meets. Again fully understand, i also enjoy it, and likewise continue with it, despite no longer having a scoob.
