Is it time
Is it time to jump ship over to the other forum??
I'm feeling that the ESC has lost it's sparkle
don't get me wrong I think the people of the ESC are a great bunch but just recently there seems to be a bit of a split, I see a lot of new faces but not the regulars.

Oh there
Phil's on holiday
Mate ...
Joking aside i can see where your coming from , It's not easy we are a " Massive " Group now , Some may say a victim of our own success , I Personally try & not attend as many meets as i used to , Feel i been doing it to long now & some meets get a bit of a muchness , But i will still welcome all newbies as i have always done & to be fair it's great to see newbies coming along
But yes , We are a big group & there is going to be a divide of some sort with so many people involved

Slim it's not a dig at the success of the ESC, it's just there doesn't seem to be a lot happening like there was when I first joined or like you said long term members have been there done that. Is it time to have a shake up to get you & like minded members interested again. Maybe the same old meet month in month out is what is wrong with me.
Tiny I want to be a member of the ESC that's what I signed up for in 2005 not SIDC(no offence Phil) it's the ESC spirit I liked & enjoyed but how can this continue when I hardly see any one I reconise.

2005 on their pink shirt collars.
On the plus side though you got to lead the convoy with me.
I know what you mean though wozzaa it is going through a bit of a lull. I don't do Santa Pod now (been there done that) or the Brighton Run (same reason) & even the tunnel run (I did the early ones). But all are cracking events & anyone that hasn't been to any of these yet is missing out.
Also this year we have some new stuff ie Time Attack, Birchanger, & the upcoming Colin McRae Gathering. I think we have just run out of steam a bit.

We're guilty of being MIA (not that MIA Nick!), but have noticed on the last 3/4 meets since I've started to attend, there's a lot of the main crowd missing and the elements that brought everyone together seem missing resulting in a slightly more distant group...
This could be a crutial time for the ESC.....

I'm still here, never really posted a hell of a lot on here (as can be seen by my post count), but used to go to virtually every event. Not so much now, still like the club, but working nights has killed it a bit for me, such as the posers on Saturday, although my car went with Gummer driving it
I'll be around a fair bit more after October the 5th though, won't have much else to do
Got to admit, it has gradually got quieter over the last year, there are loads of newbies who I don't know and don't tend to talk too much due to mixing with the old crew such as the Specy's, Ed, Kev B, Gummer etc...
It's not necessarily a bad thing that the numbers have increased, I don't think it's made the club any worse, it's just very different than it was, which is not bad in itself
I have "been there & done that" with most of the meets and events over the years, and just fancy doing different things (same as most people).
It's still a great club, but as I said earlier, it's just different than the old days

has changed a hell of a lot. the mood i'm in at the moment, i'm glad i have to sell the scoob. shame it's not like it was a couple of years back. but guess i've changed as well.
hopefully the charity day next year will spur me on a bit. but with the events of the day it's making me think why bother.

I've stayed quiet (surprising enough) for a while on this. Myself and gooner having only been members for just over a year now and in comparison to some we're still "newbies" LOL.
I think (and this is ONLY MY OPINION), that you guys have been pals for a number of years in some cases and socialise often outside of the "organised" events. You're all saying how strange it is now with so many new faces etc and seem to be complaining because you clearly dont adjust well to change (a very typical MALE "thang" for a VERY heavily MALE orientated club)
However, as i myself found, that for a newbie to come into this group - regardless of how "social" it is, is quite daunting! You all, because of your length of service LOL, have a very tight little community and thats probably why there is such a divide - the ESC is a victim of its own sucess. New v's old Now I'm not your shy retiring type - yet for me to gather the ***** to come into the HWH that night really took alot of doing, as whilst I (like many others) spend alot of time on here, its quite different face to face, and I found then that you all had your own little groups going and found it really hard to "get in" with any of them - (Just call me Ms Larry no Mates )
The ESC will - I'm sure - continue to strive above other clubs - but maybe there should be more "one off" stuff, like the maldon Park and the go Karting - where old and new members alike, come together (like one BIG happy ESC family........ in pink)
