Soak all nuts/bolts in wd40 a good few hours before hand.
Don't jack the car on only one corner, cos the anti roll bars will try and compress the suspension on the jacked side. So jack front then back.
you need a 19mm six sided socket and breaker bar 1/2 drive minimum.
If the struts have slotted lower fixing holes, make sure you are the same both sides.
don't over tighten the 3 top nuts.
easy job really.

Do you think this stuff would be any good ??

Not enough data to be sure, but you don't need an HM grease, red graese can be had a lot cheaper, try ebay!

Lucas red grease on ebay for example

Re-greased the shocks over the weekend.

Wow - what an improvement, no noises & much smoother ride.

Seems the best it has been for ages.

The old grease (what there was of it) was like marg or butter.

Cost about £2.50 worth of new grease and 4 hrs of my time.

Now to see how long/how many miles it lasts.

Thanks to The Rookie for the tips/info.

Mine lasted 2 weeks on new grease, once the things are knocking the damage is done.

When I say re-greased I mean fully stripped them down and re-greased them not just lifted up the boot.

I know this is what you did dave but what about you harry ??

At the end of the day if it buys me some time to save up for coilovers it was worth a try.

I didn't strip them down, just sprayed wd40 and greased them whilst they were on the car!
