If only Pete Court appointed bailiffs will take everything that you have to the value of what you owe. Car parked outside your house? It's gone. It's only people that own very little who are safe from court appointed bailiffs ie not many

My point was that, going back to the DVLA thing, you can absolutely have a day in court to argue your case. I mean go to the small claims court if you have to.

You read about the old boy who refused to pay a parking fine ... over a few years the fine has increased to £1300 (same ticket) & they're just about to reposses his house FFS.

You can request a court hearing for DVLA matters, though. I did this with my 'fine'. This was when they requested my evidence to prove I had complied.
I told them to do one, and I would show my evidence in court.
2 days later I got a personal letter from the head of their enforcement dept apologising for their error and saying the matter was dropped.
