Anyone got a seriously good ranking yet?

I've only managed Champion, but it's becoming a bit of a struggle with so many **** who just try to take you off the track.

I see there are a few 'Legends' now. Either they are very good or have nothing else to do with their time!

Champion here also. The rankings work like truskill, you get more for racing against others with the same or higher rank, so I've been searching for lobbies that have a few champions & superstars in already.

You get jack sh*t for beating Rookies...

 

The higher ranked players i've seen have just got the rank because of the amount of games they've played, rather than because of how good they actually are. Their win % has still only been about 15%.

I got kicked out of a game yesterday, I was on the destruction derby and someone crashed into me so I could barely steer. The only thing I could do was try and crash into the others, they didn't seem to like it, my reputation got a hammering too but for 'trash talk' which I didn't really appreciate.

 

I only race in damage off races now, as people constantly ram you off. At least in damage off you get a chance to come back on the track and catch them up.

Does anyone know how the ranking system is set up for recording results? I got to Champion this morning, but when I switched it on before, I was back down at Sr. Pro and my experience points had gone.

i keep meaning to make a post about rep on xbox live as i dont understand it,

i have about 79% of people avoiding me, mainly because of gears of war and beating the yanks

thing is, i always expected it to drift back down over time, as you play more people who dont bad rep you, i could have sworn it says something like "21% of people prefer you or have not submitted a report about you"

i was always bad repped for the one that implys you kill your own team, but i always played ranked games and teamkilling is switched off

 

You do not lose exp points no matter how bad you are so it's probably a glitch.


AFAIK the rep would only come down if people left you good rep (set you as a preferred player), problem is, how often do people leave good rep, they tend only to bother if it's to leave bad.

 

Playing this game now but the online part is a joke. Most of it is just flat out bumper cars and it sucks. The single player game is good fun but your team boss/commentator is the biggest retard I've ever heard. Funny all the same

 

which team mate did you pick i picked the english one he has only won a race once and deadlast nearly everytime

to be honest, he is ****e, unless its his prefered thing, i think it might have been better to do say all the jap ones with one team mate, change him and then do all the euro ones etc etc

 

Yup, I think you have to manage your team mates quite closely because of that. My current team mate is second in every race in some disciplines, but cack in others.

Changing team mates for events seems to be the way to go.

How far in do you have to go before getting a team mate? I've been playing on Live mostly so have only just completed the first season.

I was thinking about switching per region but i stuck with a jap guy claiming 70%, didnt really matter in the end how good he was as long as i was winning, by time i'd finished the global events i was top player, top team and had 100mil in the bank.

 

one thing i have noticed with my copy (from shopto.net)

as it seams to have different sponsor logos/deals then a genuine pal uk copy

all the local scoobyclub lads have been talking about how revolution have the brand name in game and such, and i have never seen it (and finished the game lol)

seams pretty strange

had another go yesterday for the gentlemans driver achievement and got hit right near the end with no flashbacks left

good game, i enjoyed it, dont see the point in me keeping this copy, unless any DLC is coming? but it all seams to finish rather quickly and i see no real need for the cash, as you are quickly rolling in it once you get into the game.

thing is i will be gutted if in 3 months time some DLC is released to use all the saved cash with, and i have traded it in

was gutted that i traded in army of two and then the new levels were released for free

 

What is on the box that shows it isn't anything other than a PAL UK version? I've looked at all my PS3 boxes, and theones from shopto don't seem to be any different from the others

Is the money listed in Euros or £££, I know the american version is in $, the filthy rich achievement is listed differently in the US to UK

it was in this thread that somebody mentioned they are euro copys and sometimes you can not trade them in as the barcodes dont register in the shops ?

i assume you lot with "proper" uk copys have "revolution" as an available sponsor?

unless the sponsor list is just random, but its not on my copy and i have no races left apart from a few head to heads with ravendale (dont think they are "new" sponsor events anyway?)

 

It rings a bell however there's that many sponsors it's hard to remember.

 

thing is, i would have noticed it on mine as they are a local company, i spend enough cash in the place and know the staff/bloke who owns it LOL

i think they have an advert on SN although i have all adverts disabled on here anyway.

not that its effected the gameplay in anyway, i just found it a bit strange when the local scooby club lads were posting about it on our site and i thought they were all lieing LOL

 

I've just had my first team win and now have earned £383,650, Revolution have just appeared on mine. £1,900 objective bonus for finishing no lower than third

 

lol i was winning 630,000 after every race by the end

and my team mate was earning a smidge less

 

I notice there is an update for the game now, you can turn collision off, which is good because all those **** who just barrel into the first corner and take you out will have to race now!

No, that was damage, this is collision, so you can't actually make contact with other racers at all. If you are the fastest, you will win, simple as.

It's a shame really, because contact should be a part of the game, but so many people ruin it by just ramming others.

The missing cars were the Ferrari 430 and 550 - the unfortunately had to be left out at the last minute.

Did you guys get to play the Impreza drift car? How do you think it sounded. The actual car recorded was supplied by Japspeed nr Manchester. I think it's the only RWD Impreza in the UK....
