Not a bad option

I have spent the the last two days getting parts together to go on the replacement engine.

Have got:
Cambelt
Tensioner
Alternator Belt
Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
Cam Cover Gaskets
Water Pump
Zerosports Thermosthat
RCM Oil Pump
Lateral Performance Baffled Sump

The idea is to get the spare engine in the car and running, as i am hoping to do a few more track days this year.

I am going to start getting parts together to do a fully built engine, which will hopefully be built over the winter.
Am yet to decide wether to go 2.0 or 2.5

Huge thank you to Mark @ Lateral and Frayz for their advice

A wee update........

The replacement engine is now built up and ready to go in, which should be happening next weekend.

Ended up buying:

3 New Cambelt Rollers
Cambelt
Tensioner
Alternator Belt
Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
Cam Cover Gaskets
Water Pump
Zerosports Thermosthat
RCM Oil Pump
Lateral Performance Baffled Sump
Ported Headers
Mocal 16 Row Oil Cooler (With Thermosthatic Sandwich Plate)
Hardrace Engine & Gearbox Mounts
Lots Of Funky Black Heat Wrap
Battery Relocation Kit
Oil Catch Can

There are probably 1 or 2 other bits, but can't remember the rest.

Bill so far.... just over £2200. Ouch!!!!

Good luck with the install Gary. I am sure it will be fantastic afterwards as you have a great spec list there.

Haven't updated this for a while!!!!

No major changes really.

The engine has been in for a while now, seems to run fine.

One of the coilovers packed up, so replaced the Cuscos with a set of the BC Racing ones from Apex.
Am really impressed with them, much nicer ride than the old ones.

Did a track day at Brands Hatch in Feb, and was over the moon with the car.
Went really well, and handled fantastically.

Few small changes to the bodywork. The rear arches were rotten, so had them sorted at a friends bodyshop.
Had both sides of the car sprayed at the same time.

Last addition was a HT Autos rear diffuser, which finishes the back end off nicely.

Haven't gone too mad with the car recently as i am (finally) moving out in the next few months, so have been trying to save a few £££, and have also gone halves with my fiancee on a WRX for her, so we are currently building an engine for hers.

Have still got a few ideas planned though

Brands Hatch in Feb....

How it currently looks....
