Eduardo - sky wouldn;t even show it!
Those types of high challenges unfortunately happen week in week out, he was unlucky, he has even said that himself. Surely it can just be left at that, there is no need to vilify Taylor as I am sure he feels bad about this. He is hardly a dirty player with only 3 yellow cards in his last 74 appearances and only 1 red in 8 and a half years prior to Saturday.
One more thing, it's not as if Eduardo has never made a high challenge...

Well it looks like good news for Eduardo
The Club can confirm that following the incident during Saturday’s match at Birmingham City, Eduardo has fractured his left fibula and sustained an open dislocation of his ankle joint in the same leg.
He was immediately taken to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham where he underwent surgery on Saturday evening. The operation was successful and Eduardo was transferred to a London-based hospital on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier today (Monday 25th February), the Orthopaedic surgeon and Arsenal medical staff assessed the extent of the damage and possible time scale for a full recovery.
All being well, Eduardo will have his leg in plaster and using crutches for the next six to eight weeks. After that time, partial weight-bearing exercises will be scheduled into a slow rehabilitation process.
It is hoped that Eduardo will be running again in six months time and making a full recovery after nine months.
Eduardo will be released from hospital in a few days.
The Arsenal medical team would like to take this opportunity to thank Birmingham City FC for their assistance on the day as well as the surgical and ward staff on S2 at Selly Oak Hospital for their expert medical care.
In addition, and on behalf of Eduardo, the Club would like to thank everyone for their many touching messages of support.
It's a long time rehabilitation but it's looking good

Quick Q - do Arsenal or whoever i assume they have medical insurance with pick that cost up as he is a non UK national? I presume the NHS isn't paying for that reason.

amazing really..
hundred years ago they would have probably amputated his leg!, 50 years ago he would probably have never been able to run again, 20 years ago his football career would be definately over, and now he could be playing by xmas!! medical advances are amazing really..

I'll be gobsamcked to see him back on the pitch again. I really thought his career was over seeing his foot hanging off
Medical science is now nothing short of miracle performing
Having seen what an independant expert said today in that he was lucky not to have his foot amputated highlights the expertise of the football medical staff at the ground which saved him the amputation. Allegedly they only have minutes to get his foot back in place before the damage is too severe to the blood vessels and amputation has to be carried out

The standard of the reffing was appalling there yesterday
and if it had been anybody other than Lamplard I'd have agreed with you Richie
In reality both him and Boa Morte should have just been given yellows for bringing their handbags onto the field of play

I agree he didn't punch Boa Morte, but he did give hime two good digs with his boots whilst getting up, like I said before, IMO they should both have got yellows for behaving like spoilt petulant kids

I know
Great isn't it
Alliadiere was continuing Boro's long and honourable tradition of having a man sent off at Anfield for dubious reasons though
In fact I can barely remember the last time they finished a match there with 11 players still on the pitch

there was a tackle by Senderos on the Osbourne which was very similar to the Eduardo tackle but in this instance nothing came of it... it's a split second thing between it been pretty much nothing or something far more serious.

They should have left it in place as a signal reminder to others that handbags have no place on a football pitch
