That is an terrible injury and I hope he comes back from it even stronger as he was just starting to settle in at Arsenal and was looking very very good.

Yes you can.

They are amazing to watch when all is going well, but if things go slightly against them, or the ref doesn't grant them "the respect that they deserve" they turn into petulant children and spit their dummies out.

The team has absolutely no discipline, ***** to a man.

Yes, because decisions always go against Arsenal, ref's never grant them anything.

As for your behaviour getting better since Viera went, are you talking about the same team that kicked out at a player and attempted to take him out of the game just because he showed a bit of skill?

His foot was literally dangling by the skin still attched one side. It will be a miracle if he ever plays top flight football again having just seen the extent of it in slow motion replay
I disagree that it was the studs showing that caused the leg break, you see mis-timed tackles like that every week, the player on the receiving end usually ends up having his legs swept from under him and landing on his ****, both players then normally walk away, one with a booking. The only difference here was that instead Eduardo's boot stayed bedded in the ground rather than sliding from under him and the result was the horrific injury we've all seen

I have to say that I do believe there's no way Taylor did it intentionally, and I don't agree that he should have his playing career ended because of it

I also think that there's a pretty good chance Eduardo will play again, the injury itself looks to be to the leg itself rather than the ankle, and both Alan Smith and Djibrill Cisse (twice) are playing again after suffering similar injuries

Allways against Arsenal, then how come Galas stayed on the pitch after kicking Nani, and even escaped further punishment because the ref felt that the video was inconclusive!

To be fair, look at the fairplay league, Arsenal now have the second best disiplinary record in the prem.

You see the pics in the papers today? The tackle caught him mid way up his leg then slide down to his ankle where it broke. Mad, mad challenge

I agree it was a mad, rash challenge, but like I said, you can see similar every week of the season, the only difference being the player usually walks away

Sickening tackle/injury.

Taylor should be punished.

Birmingham camp saying "some would even say it is not even a yellow card"...

What a waste of talent. I hope he makes a recovery and plays football again. He was the kind of player that Arsenal needed and doing so well.

You ever played football? These is a picture showing what happened perfectly. Yes it was a bad tackle and high. It deserved to be punished harshly. It also shows edwardo toe ending the ball away with his foot in the turf as the tackle is made. The tackle is a split second late but did untold damage and looked terrible. people need to get prospective on this. There are plenty of similar tackles made each week but in this case the exact circumstances conspired against the player and his leg was broken.

Yeah, because that shows the whole incident in it's entirity allowing the readers to make a sound decision

Wenger retracted his statement later on, because the tackle was clumsy and mis-timed. Nothing more nothing less...

firstly, pointless petulance from the usual suspects on this thread that are not even talking about the injury.

It was a bad tackle, but thats all, he got a red, that's fine. Wenger reacts in the heat of the moment and now he has retracted the message, fair play.
You'll see how non-malicious the tackle was by how upset Taylor is, and he appears very upset...

as for Gallas reacting and how will it effect the team, this will be a defining moment in Arsenal's season I believe, this will drive the players on to win the title, for Eduardo.

Come on you gunners

He only retracted as he initially compared the tackle to someone who commits murder which is probably a tad OTT ...

just read that Stephen Kelly said the ref decided to send off Martin Taylor because he broke Eduardos' leg ,so not because he goes in at shin height then?

I'm not condoning the tackle but I believe there's been an over-reaction to it due to the serious injury suffered.

It is only to be expected though really i'm sure you may have bayed for blood when a bad tackle goes in on one of your players but after the red mist has lifted you can see it more rationally.

It's a red card challenge that was late, high and studs up. He deserved to walk. The break is an accident though. I have no doubt he wanted to clatter Eduardo but because he'd just planted his foot it ended up breaking his ankle like this.

Most times they get away with it but it is precisely because this type of thing can happen that these tackles are rightly banned.

On the good news side, Cisse, Larsson at Celtic and Smith all managed to come back from similar breaks so there is hope.
