well that deffinately gives me confidence that there kit is top notch!
Just reading tis thread, it seems the board was actually developed so was wondering what sort of head way they have made with it since then really...there surely must be a big pile of cash waiting for them from V4 owners!

got an email from ESL....'its in development with no eta'...so i reckon its gonna be a long long time away and may not even happen as if the clock keeps ticking more v5 and v6 will be finding their way over here and it wont be needed anymore...but hopefully they may pull something out of the bag...

Yep, it's a shame for the 100s of 1000s of v.3/4 owners out there.
But I'm sure ESL aren't losing too much sleep over it -- the projected sales are obviously not going to add to their profit margin to a significant degree, percentage-wise (as otherwise you'd've thought they would've had the product out in all due haste ).
It's unfortunate that WE (well, not me lol) are the 'losers' in all this, though.

It has been a massive job. New board now in a demo car, we can talk to it. New windows based software being written in parallel. Probably 3 months worth of refinement and testing to do before retail sale.
Looking for a stock STi4 for a brief trial if anybody knows of one in the Cambridge area.
Cheers

Hi Im new to the forums,
And think i need jolly green or andys help with my ecu if its even possible yet ?
Just Digging in the past to save re-post's i brought a "98 uk turbo 2000" and would like to push up bhp more to wrx / sti standards, i hear people getting a good 300bhp ?
Ecu is the only thing holding me of my decisions, im looking at a td04 hybrid turbo or a vf ? can my ecu now be refixed or should i just go for a apexi pfc and commander ? it currently needs doing anyway i think,
the car has a large air filter,
3" Exhaust from the turbo back with a 200cell sport cat,
Sti intercooler
Sti gear box :-/
i dont wish to spend a complete fortune, just pi** all over my mates RX8 at santa pod in september (2012)
Thank for any help guys - Patch

If it's a MY98 (manufactured before Sep 98) then I'd go for ESL MAFless.
If it's a MY99 (from Sep 98), then you can go EcuTek.
Easy way of telling:-
MY98 - coilpack on centre of inlet manifold
MY99 - coilpack offset over on the passenger side of the IM.
Post a pic, if not sure...

ET is amongst the top 5 (IMO) Subaru specialists/tuners in the country.
I wouldn't worry about that negative 'hearsay' -- goes totally against the vast majority of enginetuner's MANY customers, over many years.
The main men themselves post on here as "Alan Jeffery" and "Martyn J". (AJ is the father/proprietor; MJ his son). If you search their threads/posts, you'll soon build up a picture and gain immediate confidence in them.
Why not use their website's "Ask enginetuner" facility: http://www.enginetuner.co.uk/q_and_a.htm - Alan tends to reply well within 24hrs.
Or simply PM him on here/email him...
Do it!

Haha, must be good then, as a ecu noob, what's the difference between a twin and mafless, tbh what's esl ;-) haa
And in your opinions would u map what I have already, then get the other parts later on or just wait and get the lot?
Do u fit theses items and set it up dynamix? What's the prices on these units fitted?
Cheers guys patch

Twin=two maps, like having two independent ECUs in the car you can switch between.
MAFless=you get rid of the MAF sensor.
ESL is fully live mappable so you will feel the benefit on a standard car and it will grow with whatever mods you wish to fit.
The ECU is 295+VAT, speak to the tuners for fitted prices.
