Andy F's dragster Classic only needs to go in a straight line ( ). For day to day road use he drives a 2002 Spec C tuned to 450bhp (spools at 2k !).

Not to worry Rich. I had a peek in "view my scooby" - you may have spent a fortune, but your car looks awesome.

that reminds me to update

the problem with modding a car like ours is the more you do the more that still needs doing

a car with 450bhp might feel nice in a straight line but on std brakes and suspension would feel like a pig

BUT just read yours is an STI which should be a much better starting point than mine

But you're right, that power on the standard brakes/suspension wont be worth it.

He has some quote/ideas to go with, but i think he's re-thinking the £4k spend.

I have the Tein Flex suspension with the EDFC which allows you to set the damping from inside the car I read that they would be hard for UK roads but I have mine set up for 32 levels of setting both rear and front when set to softest in my opinion it is softer than the standard STI (with prodrive springs) and you don't need a spanner to keep changing settings so whilst in the car keep soft then if your at the lights and fancy a blast round corners etc. Press button and in 2 - 3 seconds (literally) it's ready for fast road.

Next I have AP Racing 6 pot with 355 disc and braided hoses and Ferrodo 2500 pads.

If you haven't had these get suspension/handling and brakes done thats all you need to do.

Mine is at 350bhp + but with all the handling and brakes sorted! To me it's just right and a daily driver (but I'm always on the look out ..... )

No mate. It's standard. Is completely fine. Few others running the same setup/power, they're fine too.

Thanks Gaz,

If everything goes according to plan, I should have some reddies in about weeks. I will take it from there and see what happens

Thanks,
Alex
