Default £4k to spend on my STIppp

Right Chaps, Where to I start? what to do? Your opinion goes a long way. As you can see it's already running at 339/312 what do you think I can get out if it now..... What should I get done??

Buying and selling Houses has freed me up with some ££££

Cheers Dudes?

Ps, 1st going to Thailand with the Bird tomorrow

What about investing in upgrading brakes and suspension? not just going for more BHP.

I am thinking more on getting a whole range of things done as oppose to just getting a rocket attached under the bonnet. I was reading a thread earlier about Dampers ect. I prefer to go round bends instead of straight lines just don't know what to get????

Cheers,

if you have loads of money then AST coilovers with the geometry set properly should get you some phemominal handling, they are highly rated on here and used on the T25.

Alternatively i have heard good things from a respected friend of mine about original STi shocks with whietline flatout springs and Noltec top mounts to enable a decent amount of castor angle to be run at the front for improved cornering, alot cheaper, but probly not a patch on well setup ASTs.

Braking wise, the original brembos are good, especialy with a disc and pad upgrade if youdont fancy spending loads on AP or ALcon 4 pots

* Presuming your current 330bhp is from a 3" decat exhaust and has a tek3 license.

AST Coilover Suspension £1k
OR
PD Springs £200
Whiteline Rear ARB £90
Droplinks £50
AntiLift Kit £120
4 Wheel Geom £60
£200 Labour
(AKA: Type 20 Handling Kit)

Suspension: £1500 / £800

Ferrodo DS2500 Pads F&R £250
Motul 5.1 Fluid £15
Goodridge Hoses £50
OR
AP 6 Pots £1500
£100 Labour

Brakes: £500 or £1600 (- £300 Current Brembo Brakes sold)

18g/20g or similar turbo £1400
NGK 7's £50
Ported / Gen 2 Headers £400
CAIK £200
Labour £250
Remap £250

Power: £2500 - Circa 370/380bhp.

You'll have an awesome real-world car, that goes, stops & handles. Consider wrapping headers/manifold/turbo for those extra ponies.

Alternatives/Extras:

Octain Booster (£5 per fill - +20bhp)
Methanol 10% (Costs less than vPower - +20bhp ish)

I like th esound of that and sounds reasonable. I'll take down the names of this stuff and have a chat with the guys who did the remap. I took it to Power Engineering in Uxbridge. At least I'll have a standing point instead of just going in and saying "I've got about £4k to spend, what can you do....."

Cheers Gaz!

It may be worth investigating what suspension components are used on the Type25 as people say that the ride and handling is superb.

Or maybe the RB320 setup

No worries, that's roughly the spec i'm running. I've got a few other bits n' bobs . But it runs like a dream.

Those prices are sourcing it all yourself though. If you took that list into the garage, it would cost a lot more. But if you want to know where to get them, with discount codes etc, just let me know.

Plus, that will be nearly £4k down the pan. Something that is sinking-in only now... £14k car with £4k mods = £15,500 car at best. But that might not even be worth considering.

You'd have to get lucky for someone to buy at that spec, or then bite the bullet and convert to standard and sell the parts seperately. But if you're keeping it, who gives a flying ****, get them bits on and smile every mile. Whoooop-bang

Bigger Gulp as I bought for 18k w/ppp 21k on clock I might then just put the £££ back in the house and just do a little bit. £4k's not to be sniffed. Nice to have but even nicer to have if you need it

Alexppp

I agree with this suggestion I'm getting ready for re-map fuel pump, 6-pot AP's and AST's.

Get the Type 25 Porche brake kit and suspension, Circa £3k at Powerstation.

Or as some say, have a decent holiday.

Buy another car with the money. Something like a 205 / clio williams. It will bring just as big a smile to your face and you will retain your money when you want to sell.
