Agree with some of the other posters on here a decent set up does make a difference, for me it does not make a poor film good, but it does make a great film fantastic. I spent about £1500 on the sound for my 42" plasma, which includes amp and sub, films such as gladiator, saving private ryan are great films which can be enjoyed on any tv. Stick then on a decent home cinema set up and the difference is mind blowing.
Other favs of mine would include
Star wars ep IV
Kill bill vol 1 (r1 uncut, slightly extended)

shanghi knights (love owen wilson!)
mission impossible 3

goodfellas
black hawk down
could list loads more, really depends on what mood im in.
