I was thinking of meeting you all there for around 10.30-11.00. I've been to Blyton several times before so would this be alright or do I have to attend the 'safety briefing'?

I would hope the majority would be long gone by 10.30 and already enjoying the track and making the most of the day. You can arrive whenever you like, as long as you make yourself known to me on arrival and know or are made aware of the safety guidelines.

Are children allowed to go in passenger seat if they wear Helmet, Most other tracks don't allow children is this the same here?

Mark, yep it's fine for kids as long as they've got a lid on as I recollect.

Food sorted for ALL club members

(Unless you're vegetarian, sorry!)

Non members will be welcome to make use of the BBQ for their own foods, or can purchase burgers & hotdogs at very reasonable rates

Mikey, sorry you can't make it. Next one is Sept 15th so make sure it's ready for then.

Daz, you may as well take Mikey's withdrawn place as deposits are non-refundable after I have paid the track deposit.

PS. Dazza, was that your van I saw at St. James's Hospitable this morning It was blue wrapped with "Specialist" but couldn't get a clearer look at it

Scotts right. As it's our track for the day we do allow kids on and at your own risk. However, this is mainly because there's no racing / overtaking and there's only 5 cars allowed on the track.. Helmets mandatory...

Sorry it’s a “bit late in the day” but is there any chance of another SMACS member joining you on this?

Got a free day on Saturday now and would love to come over with Andy and Pete.
I can make the deposit payment via paypal. Carl

More than welcome Carl. PP the deposit, or given it's getting on you could just pay the full amount on Saturday.

Paul, there's no pressure at Blyton to drive any faster than you want or feel able to. We have a strict no overtaking policy and everyone should respect each others space on track, leaving you free to learn the characteristics of your car and develop your driving skills. As I've pointed out to a few nervous people before, it's much more dangerous following me or some of the other guys over Strines or through The Dales as on track there's no oncoming, reasonable run-off and more importantly, no cops I and many others have a lot of experience and would be more than happy to sit in with you to teach you the lines, braking points and tricky bits. Come on, Blyton is one of, if not THE highlight of the WYIOC calendar. What a way to join

Excellent – Thanks very much. Looking forward to this now – if still a little nervous!
I’ll pay on day if it’s easier. If you do need money before just let me know- no probs either way.

Thats it then Andy – I’m committed now!
Give me a bell/txt/pm before Sat and we’ll try to sort a meeting point up.

As I say Paul, the public highway can be a much more dangerous place. The track is a controlled environment where you know exactly where each corner is and where it goes, and exactly what surface to expect. It's looking like we'll be having a good day weather-wise so you don't even have to worry about how the grip changes after a shower (that's always an eye-opener ). There are sweaty helmets available at the track FOC if you can't source your own. Look forward to meeting you and don't be shy. Chat to everyone and make yourself welcome, and don't be shy about asking for a run out with others, it's a great way of learning the track

Carl & Paul added to the unconfirmed list (so you've gotta come now, it's the law ) and Mick removed
