The 'Pug' is now almost fully track prep'd (Just missing a cage, IF she survives Saturday's abuse then I'll treat her to a nice shiny new one )
MANY, many thanks to Paul C for coming over yesterday and helping fettle her for a good few hours.
By fettling I mean ripping EVERYTHING out, whether bolted down or not, wires ("not sure what that one's for Paul" - "Never mind marro' it wayn't be that important" - 'snip') Sunroof ("Can't we just unscrew it properly?" by the time the last word had left my lips the crowbar had been introduced to the sunroof in an 'interesting' kinda way) bonnet lining, rear wiper motor, etc.
They (by this time Mick had arrived to give Paul even more back-up) then persuaded the jigsaw into making a nice 'cold air inlet' smack in the middle of the bonnet. Christ, I hope it doesn't rain.
Final 'mod' was an inspired single-wiper conversion
Just need to flap her and sticker her today
Big thanks again Paul. Much appreciated

I had to read that 6 or 7 times before I got where you were coming from.. now given that your Pug has already had a number of very expensive mods I am not sure that you would want to up the value by another couple of hundred ££££

Thats not as bad as I thought actually, but still around 4 times the cost of a second hand geniune rally lamp pod.... Hopefully if we can get 5 mins at Blyton you can quote me for some stickers etc... you'll see why on Saturday

Dazzzzzzz.... I love the way that thing just buzzes and fizzes mate.. top stuff..
Nice acceleration in a few spots too..
Tiny complaint is that in that camera position, the wing mirror is right in the way.. small.. but annoyingly in the wrong place to give you a view of the bend and road ahead.... Hey ho.. still, I love watching the Atom do its thing..

That's why the guy that bought mine collected it the day before the last Blyton I promised I wouldn't, but I am a hopeless liar
Still had a great day in a Pug 309 diesel
If the WYIOC track car is there I'm sure that will be available, as well as a few other track cars which the generous folk of the WYIOC will, I'm sure, allow others to play with

Sorry about that Chris. The owner instilled a strict cut-off on us today as other clients were booked in after us. At all the previous events we have stayed as long as we wanted so this was a surprise to us. The finish time has never been that relevent as usually people start drifting away by mid afternoon having worn out their tyres, used all their fuel or on orders from home, but the clement weather and enormous fun being had made everyone seem to want to eek out every last minute keeping the track busy to the death. I can only recommend an earlier arrival at the next one if you choose to come, and to make more use of the 7 1/2 hours we have the venue. Also please remember that this is a club day not a professionally run event. It is non-profit and all the time and effort in organising and running it is given freely by the members of the WYIOC. Sorry if we didn't quite get it right for you, but please do come again and be as greedy as you want from as soon as you arrive next time.

I can only agree with Dave and apologise...
In previous years we've had the track until 5pm+, but this is the first time in the 4 years we've been going that we had a big circuit national event the day after us.. and they had to get setup.
We'd got a couple of the supermotos lined up to give us a few demo laps and Howard promptly blocked the circuit at 4pm dead. I was very disappointed in the way it was ended.
But we'll learn from this and check with Howard if something like this will happen again.. if so, we'll plan accordingly.
I'm not sure what time you turned up, but I'd also agree that the 9am start we have is there to get the most from the day.
Respect for making the trip from Liverpool though mate, shame it didn't turn out right for you...

Hey Up,
Got off to a rocky start with the clutch slipping at 6.45 am...
Arrived at Blyton and within 5 mins Scott gets told off for peeing in the field next to the toilets (which were locked may i add)....
But then it turned good in the end......
Had a really really fabulous day today, pushed myself a little bit further and it felt great,
Its the pink helmet made me more focused, steady away, could have stayed there all night if i had the chance....but at nearly 2 tanks of fuel probably a good job we couldnt...
Track tyres still looking well hopefully will last Septembers blast too...
Plus the slight scuff on bumper was worth seeing my baby going sideways...
A huge thanks to Alan and Dave for organising the event....
and to Daz for the spare two tyres (which im sure will come in handy) , Aileen and Jim for the food supply
Now then....
Mick you need another car
Drew have you stopped throwing up yet...
Dave C impressive wheely definately worth the telling off
A massive thanks to the wheel boy (Brett) a big help you can come again !!!
James fabulous graphics mate (Stickys just fab), car looks great... also you are a complete nutter...however Kaine says thanks for the ride....
Si Car is looking great and sounds fab..
Dazza - thanks for the ride in the most craziest car ever...slightly scared me when it spun but still think its great....
Bri - hope your war wound comes off your front bumper, i counted early and we have 5, started classing them as battle scars
Had fun, knackered now need to sleep, get ready for a new venture tomorrow...

BIG thanks, as usual, to Dave, and everyone else that mucked in and helped out with the 'clubby' stuff, cooking, merkee, etc.
Sorry I was late arriving and early(ish) to leave. Ella's in Wales for the weekend and I needed to get back for 5pm (got there for 6 )
This was, for me at least, the best out of the 7 Blyton events that I've done.
1 in an Evo VII, 2 in an Evo VIII, 3 in an STi, and the best of the lot gets done in a 140bhp Frogeuot 205 GiT.
The car stands me at £300, with £100 of bits and £40 on 2x part-worns. Add £40 for fuel, and £30 for the track time. £510 quid for one of the best, most fun-filled days I've ever had.
Think I was out on track more than I wasn't, and the old girl did me proud. She'll be back in September for another caning.
Pics and vid to come tomorrow (Well, later today )
Thanks to all who attended, sorry I was too busy enjoying myself to speak to you all

We need to buy Ali a TomTom or something, he seems to spend half his life getting lost.
Didn't see you there yesterday mate, but then I was in my own little heaven for most of the time

As has been said above, huge thanks to Al, Dave & all the WYIOC guys for putting on another excellent event.
1st time out for us in the new toy and really just shaking it down prior to our first event next weekend. However got it on the trailer and noticed that the rear anti rollbar mount has been ripped clean out of the chassis Need to do some quick repairs prior to next weekend.....
Our kids certainly had a great day and appears they made some friends during the day.. I think one may have been Skywalker & POB's lad???
