Had an absolutely cracking day I wish we could have gone on until it was dark. Was ummming and arrrring about driving for ages after last year but I was so glad I did. Managed to build up confidence pretty quickly and had a ball and never really felt in any danger of crashing again.....although did have a slight spin on the hairpin with cold tyres. Was equally happy specatating and having a chat...it was a nightmare trying to balance all this and getting video footage. It seems customary to have a thanks list, so
A HOOOOJ thanks to CB for organising it again.
A equally as large thanks to Dunx for lending me his wheels and giving me carte blanche on tyre wear! - a very, very kind act (they're still in one piece mate!)
Big thanks for Dazza's atom ride (they should have you on a little circuit at Alton Towers it'd be the most popular attraction). As full on as I thought it would be...and then some. Some excellent driving though so knew (deep down) I'd be ok. Was still pulling bits of Blyton out of my eyes last night.
Thanks to Aileen for cooking and videoing heroice.
And thanks to POB for the baby wipes....for my hands after wheel changes not my botty after Dazza's atom ride you understand . You're right Scott they are the future. And thanks for the Skywalker's and Mick for hanging around until I was ready to go thus saving yet another legendary 'Simon getting lost' episode.

Thanks again to Dave and the WYIOC for another superb day at Blyton
Dave - your Skoda really impressed, I forgot it was a diesel after 1/2 a lap. The Sunbeam looked like fun and it was good to see many of the Scoobies proper going for it.
Really enjoyed it myself, except for the 'off' which finished my day - I was in the green Golf by the way. That feeling of travelling sideways through a bumpy field at 40 (briefly in mid air) before coming to a sudden halt will probably stay with me forever. As the wheel dug in, the car nearly rolled, reckon it would have done if the suspension hadn't broke. It'll be an expensive fix, but it could have been much worse.
And a big thanks to everyone who helped take time out to recover the car, it was very much appreciated - cheers . Hopefully see you all at the next one, I'll try and keep off the scenery next time !

Big thanks from me to the WYIOC for allowing myself and the other two SMACS lads over to join in this excellent event.
Had a great day - my first trackday! More enjoyable after I had taken advice on tyre pressures and borrowed a tyre pumper - thanks to those who helped me out!
Hope to join you on future events.
Oh and - great photos on the other threads, but my pc crashed trying to dowload them all
Thanks again, Carl
