Current owners would have to register their dogs with the local authorities, make them wear muzzles and have them trained in clubs.

why wasnt it done here? we wouldnt have any Pit Bulls now
Maybe it wasn't done here because it was just a token law, a bit like banning fox hunting....wins votes but does does fck all in practice? Or maybe am I just being cynical?

I was at a house party last night sunday night where two pit bulls were being kept, I'm honestly thinking of ringing the police to report them.

ps yes the owner was a ****, punched a 17 yr lad in the back of the head during the party lol, cool

Good point...but the vast majority can really handle themselves...I think the combination of the pitbulls and the high state of toughness of the owners is a dangerous combination.

Type a) are inconsiderate tw@ts wo don't give a fvck about anyone else, and type b) are people who enjoy walking around with a bag of warm faeces in their coat pocket.

Bloody weird either way.
There is also c), Norman.

As in the owners who can train their dog to poo in the garden

Cat owners are weirder. Whats the point of a pet that you can't control or train to do anthing?

EVERY DOG CAN LOCK JAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just people think only staffies and pitbulls can do it due to their head size to body weight ratio which allows them to cling onto something whilst the rest of the body is dangling in the air.

If a pitbull attacks you go for its *****, if its a bitch stick you finger in its bumhole. It will soon let go

should these be outlawed too ? as some people seem to think they are the same dog

same dog different pic

I must admit when he 1st turned up on our doorstep a month ago, i was slightly cautious and wary of him, and my next door neighbour even retired into his house when he saw him

I relaxed my guard slightly when he looked like he wasnt too good, tail between legs, shivering, cowering, shaking, limping, and all his ribs showing

a month with us, and a few trips to the vets, and he is a lovely dog, still wouldnt leave him alone with the kids, but he hasnt really stopped wagging his tail, since his first bowl of food

Nonsense. There are many dogs that can be training to harm other animals and people. That is not unique to Pitbulls.

The Pit Bull gets banned the 'well ard' brigade move on to something else, Rotties, Dobermans, Alsations, then those dogs get mistreated and trained into mauling people so they get banned as well. It will end up with only dogs like Sara's allowed, so they will improvise, ten really bad tempered Chihuahua's gaffer taped together ?

They are no more used as "man bags" as Subaru's are. Both of which are dangerous in the wrong hands.

I am the proud owner of living proof that Staffies can be loyal, loving and obedient. Please don't pigeon hole the whole breed as dangerous and worthy of being banned.

cant be bothered to read through all the usual stupid comments that have no doubt been already left.

in my opionion, you should have to have a licence to hold a dog period, for this you must prove you are able to keep and train the animal safely.

agreed, but not with the same mentality

because the breed has been abused for many years now, the tempermant of the Pit today isnt the same as it used to be. all the dangerous traits have been bred into them

Well, to be fair he is sporting 'satan eyes', even if they they are blue.

So, on 'balance of probabilities' I would have say yes - he's a devil dog.

you have posted up quotes but not the reason i quoted them.
i have no problem with a 'certain' type of dog. in fact i owned a staff for eight years but had to give her up for her own safety. she was stolen from me twice. she went to a member from here, Luan Pra Bang. he has had her for nearly 3 years. what i am saying is that the Pit Bulls these days have been bred to be a certain way by irresponsible dog owners. you cant be sure of what you are getting.....

responsible people breed dogs for good temperament, what do you think Pit Bulls desirable traits are to the wrong people?

LOL the funny thing about that pic, is that he was actually panting as he had just been running round the living room like a loon, knocking everything over with his wagging tail

this thread is stupid..... you cannot out law a breed of dog.... that would be like outlawing black people(just a ref. i am not racist) which is idiotic... just depends on how you raise them... but banning them because they are genetically superior and are born strong.... stupid....i have a german shepherd and he is a sweetheart.... but the police use them because they are superior attack dogs, should it be allowed to ban him... NO. i blame that poor girls grandmother, she should have been looking after the girl....

oh yea, and another thing.... screw the french.....

blah, blah, blah, would be speaking german, blah ,blah, blah...ungrateful frog eaters, blah, blah, blah!

your friendly, outspoken American.
