Anyone fitted a hybrid fmic to a bugeye - Mines a UK, so I assume it would need a 'fix' to get it to sit at the right height ?

Trying to get hold of Harvey at the moment, but might need some data on the jap bumper bar ....

I realise that there are other FMICs out there, but not at that price - and the hybrid on my classic UK did a great job !

I like the APS FMIC used in this thread. Really subtle IMO.

Yip me also, Hybrid as really being a tart, its mostly for looks.

Is the HKS mushroom filter a good choice or Apexi for a 01 bugeye WRX?

Now, just to get a JDM bar and FMIC......

Sorry - I don't get what you're saying here at all - Are you suggesting that the hybrid FMIC isn't up to the job functionally and that its just for looks ? (!)

If so - what is the basis for your comment ?

IIRC, the hybrid will do as good a job as the others, and is significantly cheaper - the only real downside is the fitment....

Or are you saying that you'll go for a hybrid because you only want the look, not the function - and so want 'cheap' - in which case, I'm sure that you could get 'better looking' for cheaper, without the cooling ability....

Mark,

I havent fitted one, so therefore can't comment on the running of one.
What I'm after is really one for the looks, but also to do the job right!
It will be either a Hybrid one off harvey or one from Flat4online (autobahn88 fmic)

Sorry if it confused you.

No probs - I ran a hybrid on my 98 classic and it was well up to the job. With the exception of the possible height fitment problems on the UK newage, I can't see why I wouldn't go this way again. I thought that you'd been given the impression that the hybrid was a 'looks only' type solution, which I'm sure it isn't.....

Sorry if I sounded a bit off ....

Cheers,

Mark

no probs mark, I just want to make sure I buy the best within my budget as much as an APS would be nice its out my reach at the mo.

Let me know how you get on when you fit it.

Anyone running the newage Scoobyclinic FMIC - as featured in Jap Performance ?

How easy is it to fit (relatively) on a UK car - does the bumper bar need to be cut away to fit it high enough ?

Looks like the hybrid only fits JDMs properly (on newage) and needs the jdm bar (Anyone sourced these yet ?)

The cost of the clinics FMIC looks similar to the hybrid - how do they compare ?

Ta,

Mark

To get it to fit right also required cutting of the JDM bar too....Its not straight forward, i will try to post some pics up of what im doing, as my "before" pic is on this thread somewhere for a comparison.

yup heres the after.....

The bumper was only just "sat on" at the time which is why it is not perfectly central!! but you can get the idea.

here is a better before.....
