Had Dells at work, good for the money, cheap internal parts that do go bang every now and again. Good aftermarket support though.

Poor IDE transfer rates so the HD is always spinning lots. But overall very good.

If you're thinking of upgrading yourself you're probably best looking elsewhere, but if you are happy to bin the machine entirely in a few years and buy another at the low Dell prices they're pretty good.

Make sure you buy a Saturday or Sunday paper. Dell always have cheap offers in there 'last few days only' where postage won't apply and you'll get a few free upgrades.
